Re: Brentwood Town v Dartford Sat 11 Oct 2025

Not in the neighbourhood and missed the match today. Whilst many of our draws have felt like two points dropped, this one feels like one point gained.

Victory on Tuesday night will put us above our opponents, and possibly as high as seventh in the league. There is much to play for and I hope the ...

Re: Dartford v Burgess Hill Town Tue 30 Sep 2025

The highlights do not show how ridiculous the first yellow given to Olly was. The second was clearly highly contentious as shown in the highlights. Thus my earlier comments regarding the treatment of Olly by the ref in comparison to the opponent number 10 who committed two bad fouls, but was only ...

Re: Dartford v Burgess Hill Town Tue 30 Sep 2025

Just updating my records this morning and I see that I have now witnessed one win in seven games, yet also only one defeat. Draws appear the order of the day. No 0-0, or 5-5, but everything in between. Perhaps more of note is that in the eighteen matches that I watched last season, we conceded ...

Re: Dartford v Burgess Hill Town Tue 30 Sep 2025

What a disappointing performance against a poor opposition. With a penalty at 2-0, it should be game over. The penalty was saved and we failed to come out for the second half until the score was 2-2. Even then a lucky deflection gave us the lead back, but we could not hold on at home to see the game ...

Re: Dartford v Burgess Hill Town Tue 30 Sep 2025

Missed Saturday, but enjoyed the first half commentary. Was otherwise occupied during the second half, but kept up with Flashscores.

Looking forward to tonight as I will be unable to travel on Saturday when I hope that we can start a Trophy run. Results have felt disappointing to date, but I think ...

Re: Dartford v Cheshunt Sat 27 Sep 2025

If Dartford win we will move up to twelfth or thirteenth as most of the clubs immediately above us are not playing league matches today. Some are still in the FA Cup (remember that?). Follow that with a win on Tuesday evening and we will be pushing into the top ten. Two good results would make a big ...

Re: Dartford v Cheshunt Sat 27 Sep 2025

Ladies rugby world cup for me today. Taking it easy as I have a ten mile trail run race tomorrow morning. Will be back on Tuesday evening hoping for a second home win in three days!

Time for this season to get started.

Re: Goodbye Dave

Sorry to read this sad news today. I only knew The Duke from standing close by him at many matches and through joining the general discussion about the game in front of us. He truely loved his football.

I send my condolences to his family and close friends.

Re: Aveley v Dartford Sat 20 Sep 2025

At least we are quite accustomed to playing with less than eleven players on the pitch. Hopefully we can put our experience frrom almost every other away game this season to our advantage.

Re: Dartford v Canvey Island Sat 6 Sep 2025

With no game next week, we will be on a two week unbeaten run. Things already looking better. Hopefully some of the injured players will be available again when we play next.

Something has to change at the back. Eight games into the season and we have not come close to keeping a clean sheet.

As ...

Re: Dartford v Canvey Island Sat 6 Sep 2025

The days of the pitch being a critical part of the football club are clearly over. We try to encourage teams to warm up down the sides rather than in the goalmouth to prevent unnecessary wear, then we agree to host a charity match on the surface. I thought we had a plastic training pitch that could ...

Re: Dartford v Canvey Island Sat 6 Sep 2025

Hoping that we can all put the disappointments of Monday / Saturday / Tuesday behind us and finally get this season up and running. Good to see that we have a new defender inbound who can hopefully bring some stability and help to cut out the silly mistakes that are costing us. Nothing against our ...

Re: FA Cup 1st qualifying round replay - Dartford v Bracknell Town Tue 2 Sep 2025 @ 19:45

Just watched the highlights. I still think the second half challenge on Olly was worse than either of those in the second half at Ramsgate that resulted in red cards being shown.

Disappointing to see close up just how bad our defending was for both goals that we conceded.

Roll on Saturday. Let ...

Re: FA Cup 1st qualifying round replay - Dartford v Bracknell Town Tue 2 Sep 2025 @ 19:45

What a shocking advert that was for the once great trophy. Sadly a team of officials desperately out of their depth and a match of constant holding, shirt pulling and diving. Both teams managed two shots on target, I think. They scored theirs and we didn't. We struggtled to break down a solid ...

Re: Fa cup draw

They did not just beat Weymouth. They won two preliminary matches prior to that.

Before we worry about Tadley, we have to put Bracknell to the sword. I am hoping that our appeal with the FA is successful so that we do not have to re-jig too much.

Looking forward to Tuesday evening and a real ...

Re: FA Cup 1st qualifying round - Bracknell Town v Dartford Sat 30 Aug 2025 @ 18:30

Park Life gives an accurate description of the match. It could have been all over by half time, yet we could have scored four in the second half. I do not understand why Smith being replaced had such a dramatic impact on the remainder of the first half. It was Ramsgate away all over again.

I ...

Re: Ramsgate v Dartford Mon 25 Aug 2025

Looking forward to the highlight package, but expecting much of the controversy to be edited out. I wager that we do not see the challenge on Eddie towards the end of the match that should have seen the award of a second penalty to Dartford. Not sure they will be able to gloss over the second red ...
