Re: Weston-super-Mare v Dartford Sat 6 Jan 2024

The trouble is that I can't see how the club can afford to pay off Dowse if they were to sack him. The club is run as a tight ship financially and Dowse (and no doubt him management team) is in a 2 year contract. So love him, hate him or even if you are totally ambivalent he won't be going anywhere...

Spike wrote: Fri Jan 05, 2024 6:54 pm No disrespect to the lad, he may well be a fine player, but it's just another loan deal and only for a handful of games, many of which are highly likely to be postponed. It's not a solution, it's not even progress, it's just another sticking plaster. We are not building anything,

Re: Dartford Players of The Past

Just watched the Braintree Manager post match comments today and to say he is delighted that Baris is back is an understatement and immediately made him Captain and started todays game , just shows that Dowse's talent in recruiting poor players is on par with his ability to release quality ones , w...

Re: Dartford v Welling Utd Sat 30 Dec 2023

I'm really not accustomed to being on this side of the fence, but I can't help feeling that Dowse is having a detrimental effect on our club. It's just constant whinging and whining and excuse after excuse about the budget, plastic pitches, injuries, referees, bad luck and now the latest nonsense i...

Re: Hemel Hempstead Town FC v Dartford Sat 28 Oct 2023

My absence yesterday was due to addressing a small electrical problem at home which blossomed into a major PITA. Realistically, I could’ve quite easily downed tools to travel up to HH and up until a couple of years ago it would’ve been an absolute no-brainer, but the pull just isn’t there at presen...

Sir TB? didn’t he get us relegated two years on the trot but for a lucky first year reprieve. I have huge respect for TB but our opinions are made based on the narrative. Good old DFC boys club with no ambition. On a positive side I think we’ll get a result today, I think we’re good enough and we’v...

Okay, we haven't set the world on fire or anything yet, but we are showing signs of significant improvement. I have a strange feeling inside me and if memory serves, it's called optimism. Looking forward to this game. COYD Well, if you are feeling optimistic Spike, that's convinced me to give it a ...

Re: New home shirt 23/24

Yep. Black should go all the way and the back should be halved too. Once again, a seemingly rushed design without much thought. Next year with be Brizzle Rovers style ‘quarters’ and after that probably all black! Eventually we’ll be back to white shirts with black trim and black shorts. Don’t affec...

Re: News from around the National League South

Webbedfeet declare a £1.7million loss last financial year! And thinking about it, they also made a 1.8 aggregate loss last Xmas!! When you see this, plus the £2.5million debt that Southend have, surely the league should step in and stop clubs like these living way beyond their means and accruing un...
