Re: Dartford v Hampton & Richmond Tue 15 Aug 2023
I had the same thoughts as you Jonty, watching the streamed game, where there were no replays of any parts of the game, but the highlights clearly show the ball off their player. The game is such fine margins. Impressed by a lot of the new players. Bradbury got nothing off the referee all night, but...

Re: Weymouth v Dartford Sat 12 Aug 2023
Have to concede the goal was correctly awarded from Park Life's photo. I was making my decision at the point the keeper collected the ball on his chest and didn't follow up when he was almost on his backside. So I stand corrected. Yes!! Brave words indeed M1S. Ha ha. I say them based on my thoughts ...

Re: Weymouth v Dartford Sat 12 Aug 2023
Those highlights were a bit of a surprise to me, as we seem to have more of the play and chances than I was thinking based on the comments to date and the commentary was probably a fair reflection. I expected a tough game at Weymouth. My first thoughts at Weymouth's goal were also that it wasn't a g...

Re: Dartford v Bath City Sat 5 Aug 2023
Thoroughly enjoyed the commentary, thanks to Rick for uploading the link too. It does seem from afar that it was a case of 2 points dropped. Given the mad 5 minutes for their 2 goals and the fact their final equaliser came with them down to 10 men, and might well have deserved to have been down to 9...

Re: Dartford v Bath City Sat 5 Aug 2023
The season's start seems to get earlier every season and feels almost as though there has been no close season at all, what with all the friendlies. All the best for the coming season to the team and the supporters and especially for those continuing to follow the Darts away. Certainly seems to be a...

Re: Player news
I was quite surprised to actually seeing Charlie returning to the team before the end of the season, given his punctured lung. Equally, I was very surprised at his form and fitness, given he had been out of circulation for such a long time. So, very pleased to see him signing on. He may not play ful...

Re: Jay Our Groundsman Doing His Stuff
Quite incredible how much work has to go into maintaining the pitch and can't believe how quickly the new seed has been in preparing for a first cut. Excellent play Jay. All part of the team. COYD

Re: Tom Bonner
Excellent article and some excellent times and memories therein. Would have liked to have seen Tom play alongside and guide George, just as Tom himself was guided alongside the experienced Mark Arber, after our promotion to the top tier. I still rank that as about TBs best ever signing and pairing. ...

Re: Player news
Yes there will be clubs with bigger budgets for a variety of reasons. Sugar daddies who, when they leave, will leave the club in a weakened position. Clubs chasing the dream and living way beyond their means - look at Yeovil, a Championship side not so long ago, now in NLS and staying full time wit...

Re: Player news
I dont get all this about the big hitters chasing promotion and us as mid table cause we dont have a big budget . IF Dowse can get the team spirit/attitude/togetherness that Tony Burman achieved with players he had [ hardly big hitters] but great attitude with a real will to win , who cares about h...

Re: Dartford v St Albans City Sun 7 May 2023 @ 12.30
Yes, indeed it should have been a penalty, with the hand/arm going towards the ball. Seeing the highlights after seeing the streamed game simply reminds me just how much on top we were compared to 3 weeks ago. Our lads couldn't have put more effort into the game. St Albans didn't really have to perf...

Re: Dartford v St Albans City Sun 7 May 2023 @ 12.30
Pointless saying it this year as will be seen as sour grapes but from next year there should be no penalties. The team finishing higher should go through after extra time. The opponents have had 46 games and 120mins to finish above and if they couldn’t do that then shouldn’t have the further lotter...

Re: News from around the National League South
First three National League play offs played last night - and all three ended up in away wins for the last placed of the play off positions. So much for home advantage!!

Re: News from around the National League South
I did watch the majority of the match and for me, St Albans were deserved victors, played the more fluent football, and served up much the same as they did at PP only 2 weeks ago. At least have Thought they were the more dangerous side, and we will have to be on our toes throughout the game to edge ...

Re: Hampton & Richmond Borough v Dartford Sat 29 Apr 2023
Sounds like some very creditable performances from the youngsters stepping up from the Development squad. Well played Darts. Dulwich Hamlet must be now reflecting on the wisdom of releasing Gavin Rose from his managerial role mid season. Don't think he would have allowed DH to end up in the relegati...

Re: News from around the National League South
You can't get better than the DFC Badge.
TBH, when i was down at PP last Saturday St Albans, I was looking at the Brick in the Wall display and again, thinking just how so impressive our own Coat of Arms is. Never fail to be moved by it. Just not clever enough to upload it to this posting.
