Re: Player news

I thought the same Duke, but maybe the opportunity of playing regularly, rather than benchwarming, and getting games under his belt, was a factor at his age.

Re: Player news

Delighted with that signing. I actually preferred Josh Hill over Essam at the heart of our defence back in the day, so welcome back Josh.

Re: Player news

The reality of last season is still sinking in for me as to what Dowson left behind in his wake. I understand what Lars is saying. The dead wood of last season have now departed the club and hopefully we get the heart of the club back and beating on the pitch with players showing they want to play f...

Re: Dartford Players of The Past

He would have been an excellent addition to the squad had we retained our Conference place, but as you say Ozy, far too good for IPL.

Re: Player news

I have been off the forum for a bit, having been so so disappointed at our relegation, as I could, sadly, see it coming. I then wanted to see the retained list, as I don't like criticising players during the season at a time we were needing to give encouragement to players. I was never comfortable w...

Re: Champions

Congratulations to the squad, one of the shining lights in an otherwise very disappointing season, the other being the success of the ladies as well. What a pity the first team couldn’t replicate the successes of these teams. What are the chances of some of these lads moving up to the first team nex...

Re: The relegation battle thread 2024

I wonder who the player was and in which match he played and the result of that match.

I'm sure there was a time that the club would have been ordered to replay that match if they had won.

Re: Player news

Well, I hope Olly does indeed stay, whatever league we are in next season and gets regular games under his belt, which is what he needs, rather than becoming a small fish in a big pond. If and when he does move on, then I will be the first to be wishing him all the best at a higher level, providing ...

Re: News from around the National League South

Sadly, I think the better result tonight might have been a draw or a Truro victory, which would have kept Torquay more in our sights. That was a massive 3 points for Torquay with games running out and Torquay still to play away to Taunton. We Darts really do need those maximum 9 points from our rema...

Re: Havant & Waterlooville v Dartford Sat 6 Apr 2024

Once again, I was tuned in to the commentary. Park Life, Will Bass was also commenting that today was the best performance he has seen in the last 2 seasons he has been commentating on Darts matches. Certainly seems to have been the case today, and with excellent and confidence boosting performances...

Come on Ollie. Let's have another one, says me, sponsoring Ollie's kit since my trip down to PP for the Taunton game.

Re: Havant & Waterlooville v Dartford Sat 6 Apr 2024

Here's hoping we can get a long awaited win. Pleased to see Ollie starting, and maybe he can set up a few opportunities for Wall, as he has done previously. I'm hoping so, or scoring himself. I don't care who scores as long as we do score to give us any chance of avoiding relegation. Well done to th...

Re: Dartford Players of The Past

I'm more annoyed at Bradbury going to Chatham. Didn't he move to Farnborough to be nearer home? Just shows the calibre of idiot the 🤡was dealing with in the summer. Couldn't give a fig where T Bonner is at the moment. Also shows the calibre of idiot we had in charge. Also noticed tonight that Chath...

Re: Braintree Town v Dartford Tue 12 Mar 2024

I've done some high level technical research and it seems to me that our failures are the result of two major problems. It's a bit technical, so I hope it doesn't go over anyone's head. 1. We don't score enough goals. 2. We let too many goals in. Further analysis of these problems has led me to the...

Well. It's all confirmed on the National League website, and their latest league table shows the 10 points deducted from Torquay.

Re: Last 10 games

Agree with you on 98% of things in your post Spike except one win would put Eastbourne very much in contact with the mix. They are putting results together and if they keep on doing so it may put them well up the table.and us, sadly, even deeper in the mire. As said, it is difficult to see where ou...

Re: Torquay Utd v Dartford Sat 9 Mar 2024

I listened to the match commentary on BBC Devon Live (thank you Clare) which I thought was pretty unbiased and gave a feel for the game, and indeed it seemed it was nearly all Darts in that first half. I was really looking forward to the same again in the 2nd half, but was totally flabbergasted to s...
