Re: Pre season friendly Dunston UTS FC v Dartford Fri Jul 14 2023

Looked horrendous on Max, lucky to come out of that one with both legs. Pearson looked a very direct player, shame he only has a left foot. Other than that a good advert for Anderson coaches, at least they got there. :D

Re: Dartford manager Alan Dowson on Paul Rooney red card

Sorry Dowse, but even 'swinging a punch that doesn't connect' is a sending off offence.
What would he have said if he had connected? "It is only a friendly"
The Charlton lads looked peeved. ;)

Re: Fixtures 23/24

Although one of the ladies in Malvern said I had the gift of the gab. We ended up at a local restaurant and we both rolled in at 8.20pm. What a night that was. Both in bed by 9.🤭

Re: Fixtures 23/24

Yes John, it has it's benefits. I've been all over the country visiting different lodges. Last one was going to the Hay book festival in Wales. Lovely area's of Malvern and Hereford. I didn't get to call the numbers but I won £3.50 for a line??? :D

Re: Pre season friendly Dartford v Charlton Sat 8 July 2023

Lewis is a big guy ain't he? Mitch Beeney made some good saves first half and the ball stuck on occasions when he could have easily spilled it.

Lads of the Village

I noticed that the Lads of the Village pub is in disarray, (which pub isn't nowadays?) I then thought, I wondered what happened with Sean the landlord? and saw that the guy is still there. In his eighties. Sean was a supporter of the Dart's on occasion and many Dart's supporters supped there before ...

Re: Player news

Great stuff, new blood and Dowse's signings are giving me a bit more confidence about the season ahead. Even with these full time teams dropping down to join us, who cares what money they've got. Dowse is getting players in who hopefully want to play for Dartford and not what's going in their pocket...

Re: Player news

At the moment the goalkeeping situation isn't a problem and young Whitfield is definitely one for the future. To me the squad is looking a tad flakey on all fronts. We have retained only 2/3 players worth their salt from last season and signed two players from Havant, a team that fell apart towards ...

Re: Player news

So, let me get this straight. Quite a few people had an inkling that Bonner was going, particularly Dowse. Before the end of last season!!. Essam quit a while ago, so alarm bells should have been ringing back then. On the 22nd of THIS month Tom makes it official. Two central defenders gone the last ...

Re: LLamaman

Morning Llamaman, I hope I find you well and enjoying the Summer. Albion Rovers have dropped out of the SFL and have been replaced by The Spartans. Bonnyrigg Rose survived their first season and I'm looking forward to a better season ahead from them. But what of The Spartans? Any info on them? If yo...

Re: Player news

Isn't Block a centre back? Obviously Dowse rates him highly, maybe he's still hanging on hoping that Bonner will sign. If not then he may have fingers in the pie regarding another. Can't believe that he's happy with the situation at the moment and hopefully a signing will be made soon.

Re: News from around the National League South

Agree Steve,Terry was quality and would just run at defence's with power. But somehow at BS I found myself directly behind Terry's run from the halfway line almost. We backed off of him when he decided to hit it. The ball moved left and right before ending up in the net.. Anyway, we can dream about ...

Re: News from around the National League South

Blimey Spike, didn't see that coming. Terry Sullivan was a superb player and in all the years supporting Dartford, probably the best ever I've seen. Trouble is I will always remember his goal against us for Bishop Stortford in the Trophy. Blinding goal.

Re: News from around the National League South

And a small guy playing off Harvey who also knows where the goal is. Someone in the Cass/Henderson calibre. Or even another Terry Sullivan.
Don't think we'll get anyone like that from EB.

Re: Player news

And your opinion is respected Lenny, just don't use predictive text. Princess?? That's the keeper sorted, welcome Mitch. Why was Ben hesitant? Dowse is on the ball and is certainly getting his side. Now it's up to us to support them. I agree with Lenny that it will be a lot tougher next season but t...

Re: Player news

Hope Dan's goalkeeping decision isn't a big foot shooting for us as regards Ben re-signing again. Let's hope he does, but if he doesn't then one would hope that Dowse has someone in mind. Throwing young Wray in at the deep end may make the lad or finish him :o . I'm sure he's one for the future. Cou...
