Re: Dartford Players of The Past

Dean, as I say, I am cherry picking my games now. Since moving down to Herne Bay and now Faversham believe me I have tried to support my local club. But it's never the same as supporting the Darts. I can't find the enthusiasm for another club. Wherever I am I always look for the lads first, no matte...

Re: Tonbridge Angels v Dartford Sat 16 Dec 2023

Too late, I've voted and it didn't effect the players involved.
I used to vote when reading Spike's post on the game. But 'utter shite today ' even though informative , wasn't that helpful.😁

Re: Tonbridge Angels v Dartford Sat 16 Dec 2023

Interesting that PL seems to be running away with MOTM and also that only two votes have been made as regards the 14 players players on the pitch. Having once been told I shouldn't vote if I didn't attend the game, can I plead with those that should be approached. Can I vote for Parky please? I didn...

Re: Dartford v Yeovil Town Sat 9th Dec 2023

Yes, it's not often you see Jordan struggling in mid field. But they ran the midfield, George was pretty well on his own most of the game but scored a quality goal from a superb ball in from Luke Allen. Richard exploded into the game second half and finished well from a rare lapse at the back for Ye...

Re: Dartford v Yeovil Town Sat 9th Dec 2023

An excellent gutsy performance against a quality side. Very entertaining and how Yeovil did not win especially after that first half I just don't know.

Re: Player news

I like watching George playing, even when he played against us for Slough town. He runs off into space and seems to have a lot of energy over 90 minutes. I hope we see a similar game to Torquay. That is, should Dowse pick a similar team.

Re: News from around the National League South

I wonder also Taunton, on that little snippet will there be segregation Saturday.?In a way, I hope not as I'd like to stand with some supporters. Quite a few Torquay supporters were quite welcome on the Princes road side. .

Re: News from around the National League South

Looking on the lighter side of football life. I was chatting to a guy at the gym last Thursday who is a Ramsgate supporter. Firstly he questioned my Black and White scarf and asked me if I was a Faversham supporter? Without waiting for the answer off he went into the things that were happening down ...

Re: RIP Terry Venables 6/1/43 - 25/11/23

I was in Barcelona at the time of Terry's downfall. I saw the two games against Seville and then the away game against Espanyol (what a game that was).
I was on a two week stay and Terry was home before me after getting the sack.
Big loss, great tactician and manager.

TonyH, Credit due to Dowse? I think he needed a gentle shove to change things and he got that from a few on here and others walking out the gate with 20 minutes to go.

Re: Dartford v Torquay Utd Sat 25 Nov 2023

I won't watch the last 4.45 minutes of that. Best 45 minutes of the season, game over at half time and a second half of containment. Job done. At last management woke up to the need at the club. All eleven put in a shift. None of this hoof ball out of defence. The defence played well, why? Because w...

Re: Dartford v Torquay Utd Sat 25 Nov 2023

I too have been a critic of Dowse's but that first 45 was the best for a long time. Whether it's a continuation of the ' win one lose one ' remains to be seen. But I too believe that the inclusion of Richard Chin and George Alexander has put a zing in the front line. Chin was brilliant throughout an...

He's decided on the Yeovil game now.🤨
I told him he'd have to put up with the noise...from the Yeovil support.

Re: Dartford v Torquay Utd Sat 25 Nov 2023

He definitely needs to sit, that's why I asked. Which would be a new thing for me too. But I suppose he could do some bench warming. I really don't see this a long term relationship.
He is a West Ham and Dagenham and Redbridge supporter so is used to suffering 🤭.

Re: Dartford v Braintree Town Tue 21 Nov 2023

Rooney sounds a bit of a liability to me. He's obviously a good player but he has a talent for getting sent off and now we are paying for it. Whether it was his fault or not.
What a pain
