Re: Player news

Having watched Sam many times when he played in the academy, I felt his best position was as holding midfield player. I felt he was excellent in that role and it was Dowse who switched him to full back. It would be good to see him get a crack in the middle, at least during the friendlies.

Re: Player news

It's good to see a few more comments from people wanting everyone to start with a clean slate. Pre-judging players many of whom we've probably never even seen play, is foolhardy and counter-productive. In any case, some of our very best players have come from humble beginnings or with a troubled pas...

Re: Player news

To be fair, it's a tall order expecting people to remember everyone who scored against us last year.

Re: Player news

M1 has a fair point in raising the issue of DOA leaving after the club paid for his operation when he maybe could have shown a bit of loyalty, but perhaps he can pay us back now by banging in a few goals. At his best, he is a class act who should do well at this level. But there is a question as to ...

Re: Player news

For 3/4 of every season, there is absolutely no difference between having Luke Allen in your squad and not having Luke Allen in your squad. So even if you think he's a good player, his departure doesn't matter a jot for most of the time.

Re: Dartford Players of The Past

Given he barely got a sniff under Ady, I think I know what is more likely, but honestly, does it really matter?

Re: Dartford Players of The Past

He wasn't the worst player in the squad but I honestly think we can do better. I certainly wouldn't want him back on loan Duke. The last thing I want to see is a squad full of loan players, we've had enough of that over the last couple of years and it doesn't work. You can't build team spirit with s...

Re: Pre Season Friendlies 2024-2025

Hopefully Ady will be focusing on stuff like fitness and tactics rather than karaoke. Whoever the opposition, it surely can't be any worse than last year's pre-season.

Re: CONSTRUCTIVE IDEAS

I don't want to be picky Duke, but it doesn't seem fair for you to call our club out for not introducing the same initiatives and "add-ons" as Chatham when you haven't actually said what a single one of those initiatives and add-ons are. From where I'm standing, the only difference between...

It doesn't matter where he's been, it's where he's going that counts. Welcome aboard Denzelle and the best of luck to you.

I'm just grateful that Ady is fishing in a new pool.

Re: Player news

I'm worried that it is deafening silence on signing players. Down this way Weston have already made 2 big signings - Like Coulson and Ollie Chamberlain from Taunton. Added to that or website is still plastered with Vanerama advertising - has everyone gone in holiday? The website still thinks the FA...

Re: Player news

Perhaps if we had waited until the end of the season we could have got Dennis Kurtreib in as manager instead of trying to do a patch up job with various others. No offence to Ade but I feel we brought him in far too late to get us out of the mess we were in. Dennis is now looking to get back into t...

M1 South wrote: Tue Apr 30, 2024 7:12 am Good news Re the bar at Car Park end for S/T holders only, but what happens at home cup games where s/t’s are not valid i wonder??
I would have thought that would only be a problem if the game was segregated. Otherwise, there's no reason why it can't operate as normal.

Re: CONSTRUCTIVE IDEAS

These are excellent and very welcome changes. I think they will be well received. Shame we didn't do it last year as Dowse's Darts might have been more watchable whilst drinking a few beers. I think these changes are refreshingly bold and I hope it reaps dividends. The free season tickets for youngs...

Re: Dave Skinner memorial trophy Wednesday 1st May 7pm kick off

Other than being Park Life's brother, I have no family ties at the club, in fact embarrassingly, I've got more family connections at Ebbsfleet. I just prefer to get all my facts straight before criticising everything.

Re: Irving takes inspiration 26/04/2024

The crowds were down a few hundred each year of Dowson's tenure, of that there is no doubt. Plus it was true that many season ticket holders stopped coming so it was definitely a bit worse than the official figures would have revealed. It is also true that whilst the club did not BAN young fans, the...

Re: Dave Skinner memorial trophy Wednesday 1st May 7pm kick off

I agree M1 that the board have made errors and there are undoubtedly things that need changing, but rebranding of this game in honour of Dave was well intentioned and is nothing more than a gesture of respect that isn't harming anyone. I have no doubt the club will do something more to honour Dave, ...
