Re: FA Cup 2nd round qualifying Dartford v Beckenham Town Sat 17 Sep 2022

Noticed that it was quoted that Beckenham have won all of their first 4 ishmian league games but whilst I am the last to underestimate lower league teams [ eg Sudbury/Needham ] it should be noted that the teams Beckenham have beaten are currently 14th ,15th 17th and 19th in their league JUST SAYING...

Re: FA Cup 2nd round qualifying Dartford v Beckenham Town Sat 17 Sep 2022

We've been a bit rubbish in the FA Cup in recent seasons so I'm hoping we give this game everything and don't see any "Billy Big Bananas" attitude just because Beckenham are two steps below us. Yes, of course we will be favourites, but with an erratic 4 wins and 4 losses we haven't earned ...

Re: Dover v Dartford Tue 13 Sep 2022

We've not had the greatest start to the season and I was worried about this fixture, but crikey, we are Barcelona in comparison to Dover. There's always been a great rivalry between the two clubs and whatever we think about each other, this fixture has never been an easy game for either side. Howeve...

Re: Dover v Dartford Tue 13 Sep 2022

La meilleure chose à propos de Douvres, c'est que ce n'est pas Maidstone.
La deuxième meilleure chose est que la France est une république, donc le jeu devrait continuer.

Re: Dartford v Welling Sat 10 Sep 2022

I'm often a little confused these days, but yes, I meant to say semi-final. Either way, I'm sure the Bus Stop will be relishing the chance to get one over on us. Somewhat surprisingly I think, the bookies still have us as favourites to win. I'm not too confident myself, but I take comfort in the kno...

Re: Dartford v Welling Sat 10 Sep 2022

Given that we did the treble over them last season, smashing in 10 goals in the 2 league games and winning the KSC final at their gaff, I would imagine they are going to be up for this game. They've made a decent start so we really need to get our act together if we are to stop the rot. All our game...

Re: Chippenham v Dartford Sat 3 Sep 2022

A lot of people don't fully understand what being fully over the line means. The ball could be so far over that if viewing from the side there is actually grass showing between the ball and the outside of the line but technically it still doesn't count as having crosed unless the whole circumference...

Re: Chippenham v Dartford Sat 3 Sep 2022

Not good enough! That's the bottom line. We pose virtually no threat going forward and keep making mistakes at the back. Poor old Dan Roberts works very hard but simply isn't cut out to be a central striker. We just kept banging long balls up to him and if he won even a single header all day then it...

Re: Dartford v Worthing Sat 27 Aug 2022

Just because I'm a rose tinter doesn't mean I can't recognise a crap performance when I see one. Apart from the first 20 mins we were awful. Tall Dart says we'll be "OK" but I don't want us to be OK, I expect us to be challenging. Dowse seems a great guy and I'm very happy with all the off...

Re: Taunton Town v Dartford Sat 20 Aug 2022

We were awful today and the bad luck we had on Tuesday was well and truly balanced out by us somehow getting a 1-0 lead at the break. We gave the ball away so often and so freely it was easily the worst we've played this season. Ironically, we were slightly better in the second half but still lookin...

Re: Taunton Town v Dartford Sat 20 Aug 2022

It's a very comfortable 20C bright and sunny evening here in Taunton. The forecast for tomorrow is 23C so should be a lot better for both teams than the previous 2 Saturdays. Looking forward to adding a new ground to my collection and seeing a Darts victory of course. Hope the train strike doesn't a...

Re: Dartford v Havant & Waterlooville Tue 16 Aug 2022

It was a very good game to watch, easily the best so far this season and I thought we extremely unlucky not to have got something from the game. To be honest I would have been disappointed with a draw, let alone the defeat. But despite playing some very nice football, in the end it there's no denyin...

Re: Dartford v Cheshunt Sat 13 Aug 2022

I dunno if I missed something as regards Lennylenny??? Poor lad. It does seem a bizarre response from LennyLenny to what I thought was a very minor difference of opinion. Whether or not he's right and Cheshunt do turn out to be the "whipping boys" remains to be seen, but I felt inclined t...

Re: Dartford v Cheshunt Sat 13 Aug 2022

A poster on another thread described Cheshunt as "whipping boys" which is both disrespectful and foolhardy in my opinion. I'm sure our management team will be professional in their approach to this and every game. Cheshunt were 0-2 down with 15 mins to play on Saturday against Hampton &...

Re: Bath City v Dartford Sat 6 Aug 2022

Bath edged the first half but Darts had the upper hand in the second and deserved the 3 points. Agree with DA Mikey that our 2nd goal was offside but the first one was a belter. Not a pretty game but we arrive home absolutely delighted. Young Sam Oduadu looking good, Fonkeu off to a great start but ...

Re: Bath City v Dartford Sat 6 Aug 2022

We find ourselves in a very unusual situation, where the previous manager was sacked despite being reasonably successful on the pitch. The sacking obviously had nothing to do with footballing achievements, more that his style of management simply didn't fit with the club's in respect of things like ...

No Wall again, bit of a worry that he hasn't played any real part in this pre season He's probably waiting to sign up for a new club without even setting foot on the pitch, like he did before  That's a little unfair given that it was Flanners & Coyle who inexplicably dumped HIM to fund th...

Jernade signs for Hemel, strange unless it’s due to location. I thought I heard/read somewhere he wanted to look to play at a higher level, obviously didn’t find it Apparently there's a shop in Hemel selling these so that higher level is still on the cards. https://images.halloweencostumes.co.uk/pr...
