Re: Weymouth v Dartford Sat 4 Mar 2023

Oz, I believe the reason we’re still second are twofold. Firstly (sorry to state the obvious, and I’m not being cheeky or disrespectful!) but we’ve amassed more League points than those below us and secondly, those below us have failed themselves to capitalise on our dip in form and haven’t shown an...

Re: Weymouth v Dartford Sat 4 Mar 2023

I wasn’t at the game yesterday (one of very few that I’ve missed this season!) and won’t comment specifically but will rather comment on current form. Our management team must be baffled by this dip in form. Genuinely we have the quality of players, with considerable experience, to take us up to the...

Re: Dartford v Oxford City Sat 25 Feb 2023

The problem with Wall is he’s a safe bet, long before kick off, for a yellow. BUT, I have noticed a decrease in his silliness. That bit where he’s forever standing on defenders’ toes. Wonder if someone has had a word? He was once described him in here as a ‘runaway sideboard,’ which is a bit unfair...

Re: Dartford v Oxford City Sat 25 Feb 2023

It was like watching two sharks with rubber teeth trying to nudge each other to death. Lots of swift movement and threatening intent with absolutely no bite up front. Sure, Oxford are pretty to watch and had the majority of the posession, but so what? There's no posession column on the league table...

Re: Dartford v Oxford City Sat 25 Feb 2023

I sincerely wish I had the wherewithal and foresight to be manager of Dartford FC like everybody that comment on this forum seem to have!! Just opinions or what in earth is the point? You don’t need to be good enough to be a manager to have an educated opinion. Surely that why you are in here too? ...

Re: Dartford v Oxford City Sat 25 Feb 2023

I said before the game (those that were with me would confirm) that we’d stop them scoring but would have bugger all up top to get a goal ourselves - nil all. So, we defended very well, and offered pretty much nothing the other end. Stalemate! For me, despite what many think about our performance, t...

Re: Braintree Town v Dartford Sat 18 Feb 2023

Dire first half from us but much better second half. Cracking equalising goal by Jernade fishing off a delightful passage of play on the edge of their penalty area. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again for what it’s worth - CONSISTENCY is the key, not only from game to game but within games. I...

Re: Braintree Town v Dartford Sat 18 Feb 2023

This first half so far is reminiscent of Welling the other week. Only difference is that Braintree are complete s***e and we’re making them look good!

Re: Dartford v Chippenham Town Sat 11 Feb 2023

A win’s a win at this stage of the season and very much keeps us in contention for 2nd position come the end of April. Seriously hope Charlie’s okay for next Saturday but doesn’t look good! Light on strike power and maybe Dowse can weave some magic. All-action Luke Allen for MotM for me yesterday. A...

Re: Welling v Dartford Sat 4 Feb 2023

To be fair to Welling they played well first half and got at us, deservedly going into the break a goal up. Second half a different story and our best spell of the game got us a second equaliser and almost a winner. Great character from the lads to twice come back from a goal down. Shame their terra...

Re: Worthing v Dartford Sat 28 Jan 2023

Really confused with what’s happened between an excellent Christmas period that showed us to be genuine title contenders to these last two games. Only the gaffer and the lads will know that, I guess! On the Alex Wall debate, if it’s even a debate, yes I’m a big fan of the big old fashioned centre fo...

Re: Dartford v Hemel Hempstead Town Sat 14 Jan 2023

After our excellent Christmas period and a solid win last week to start the year with I felt we were in with a good shout for the title BUT a run of consistency, required of any title winning side, is essential to sustain that challenge. The scrap for the title may very well be a 4 horse race betwee...

Re: Dartford v Hemel Hempstead Town Sat 14 Jan 2023

Stating the obvious - we lack a squad with depth capable of maintaining a Championship challenge! Referee poor, yes but we cannot blame that on our defeat. The usual shithousery from a team set out to scrap for a result at Princes Park. Give Hemel some credit though for some of the football they pla...
