Re: Dartford v Cheshunt Sat 27 Sep 2025

Maybe should’ve been a bigger winning margin but that’s splitting hairs. 3 points and a clean sheet. What more do we want. More wins will breed confidence and we will go for the jugular. I can understand the scepticism about our prospects of matching last season’s unbeaten run, but we are capable ...

Re: Isthmian Premier League News

FA statement today:

“Whilst the health & safety of participants & spectators at the National League System level is the responsibility of the clubs & their local authorities, we will now conduct an immediate review…that will focus on the safety of perimeter walls”.

So sad that such an incident ...

Re: Aveley v Dartford Sat 20 Sep 2025

AP said he’s pleased with the performance. Enjoyed the performance. Loved the performance and there was only only going to be one winner.

I was not there so interested if those that were agree.

Suggesting it was enjoyable is maybe a bit over the top, but we should’ve won the game. If Eddie’s ...

Re: Ady Signs New Contract & Player Updates

Hopefully this early stuff will help us sign some quality. Definitely think we need three or four - more if some of last year’s don’t re-sign - and not sure the quality players would sign if we didn’t already have a nucleus. Club couldn’t really have done more so far.

Re: DFC playoffs since NLP

Play-offs are outdated, in my opinion. Brought in back in the 80s when attendances were declining and the game needed a kick up the arse. If a team finishes 30 points behind the top spot but can still sneak promotion it makes it a mockery for me. Still, they’re not going anywhere, but they need ...

Re: Budget

The worry for me is that crowds held up well, to the point that they wouldn’t increase that much if we went back up, so the Board must think what’s the point of going up? We’d have higher costs without the extra income, and that potentially leads us down the path towards bankruptcy. The ethos at ...

Re: Play off Final - Dartford v Dover Athletic Mon 5 May 2025

Looking at the season as a whole, looking back at the results I don’t think early season was as disastrous as it seemed at the time. We were on a downer so losing our first home game set a tone even though we won three games in August. September saw us lose heavily at Douvres and Billericay, and ...

Re: Dover Athletic v Dartford Sat 7 Sep 2024

We played well in parts. Had chances although I think we had a lot of huff and puff without anyone to stick it in the net. If we’d deservedly gone 1 up then it might’ve been a different game. Then again there was the usual frailty that could cost us in the long run. Certainly we can’t keep giving ...

I know we’ve won a game, but we were only in that round due to relegation. We’re through to the round we normally get knocked out in.

Re: Carshalton Athletic v Dartford Sat 24 Aug 2024

Cons: we’re conceding possession easily, giving the opposition too much ball in and around our box. We’re not creating enough, probably connected to losing the ball often.

Pros: We look like a team, and we look like a team that can win matches. Defensively we’re playing well, and I’m guilty of not ...

Re: Player news

For me, anything less than promotion is a failure. But I don’t expect us to be particularly close. Top 6 or 8 maybe. And it’ll go one of two ways: we accept that we will continue to fail until we do eventually make it back up (whenever that is) or we lower our ambitions so that we’re down here long ...

Shomotun isn’t NLS standard. Maybe could’ve done a job in IP, but no great loss. Move on.

Dulwich have a problem with their business model - if they go much higher up the pyramid they won't be able to have drinking pitchside

Indeed.Dulwich can’t afford to reach the National League and I think that might be a reason that we were reluctant to allow drinking. It’s handy money but I ...

Cmon let's get behind the team who ever they may be
Might be Chatham v Dover - AND, if the IPL go the way of the NL, they won’t be both over Xmas/N Year but Xmas/Easter.
I imagine Dover will play Folkestone.

Re: Isthmian Premier 2024/25

And if there is anyone who thinks well definitely go up you’ve only got to look at Concord (relegated again), Cheshunt (nearly relegated again) and Dulwich (mid-table).

To win it everything has to fall into place. It could be playoffs, and we know how shit we are at those. And we could easily fall ...

Re: London Senior Cup Semi Final - Hendon v Dartford Tue 23 Apr 2024

I have no idea who’ll be playing tonight, but I have a feeling it might be mostly youngsters, and it might make people jump to conclusions. Out-of-contract players are taking a risk by playing, as Ady implied in his last interview. Get injured and they won’t be signing a contract with anyone until ...

Re: Dartford v Truro City Sat 20 Apr 2024

In my opinion the first player Pennock needs to sign is the Captain. Whoever that may be.

I understand why some wouldn’t want Coulson to stay - he’s not a leader. And I personally think he’s too one footed (always cuts in on his right). Nevertheless I’d be happy to keep him if he wants to stay. But ...
