Re: FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round - Dartford v Welling Sat 16 Sep 2023

I think he should go , but if he turns it round FairPlay. This is his team , handpicked, no inherited long contracts, I don’t think they are bad players , they just seem scared to touch the ball( mind u I would be incase I got roasted in a dowse interview, which seem now so edited it’s funny).Tonbr...

Re: FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round - Dartford v Welling Sat 16 Sep 2023

Our past successes have been built on stability. Not by sacking managers every other season. It's not the Dartford way. Steve King and Alan Dowson are two top managers. So what's the point in bringing in yet another successful manager at this level. The club will just be wasting the man's time. The...

Re: FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round - Dartford v Welling Sat 16 Sep 202

Didn’t play that badly, in fact 1st half we knocked it around a bit. Even the long balls were won. 2nd half not so good. But to honest things go deeper. We have no one who can tackle. We have plenty who are supposed to create but no ball-winner. I presume Jordan Wynter is supposed to do that job, bu...

Re: Dartford v Hampton & Richmond Tue 15 Aug 2023

Nothing happened 1st half. Neither side got near the goal. We had a couple of decent passing moves without really getting anywhere. 0-0 was what the game deserved. Then we scored out of nowhere. Great ball from Block, who had a decent game, and Bradbury did his job. Take that. 2nd half we played bet...

Re: Weymouth v Dartford Sat 12 Aug 2023

Last week we had 18 minutes added time to our match. Agreed, something needs to be done for time wasting , but reading the NLP this morning, set pieces, goal celebration? Really? As said, even Premier players are questioning it. We are non league for goodness sake. Players will be exhausted. By all...

Re: Player news

Yes there will be clubs with bigger budgets for a variety of reasons. Sugar daddies who, when they leave, will leave the club in a weakened position. Clubs chasing the dream and living way beyond their means - look at Yeovil, a Championship side not so long ago, now in NLS and staying full time wit...

Re: Player news

After a few weeks away, come back to Tom’s retirement, which I wish him well with. Just listened to Dowse interview and getting a little concerned that we as a club are slipping a bit behind in the money stakes and it’s going to be hard to be at the top end of this division soon let alone be in the...

Re: Player news

Started the season strongly but faded after his injury. Don’t get me wrong he’s a good player but he’s replaceable. If players leave for the money and don’t want to play for the club then, as they say in Le Douvre, au revoir! Good luck to him except against us. I agree with that DA1. He didn't look...

Re: Player news

Losing Samir is a MASSIVE loss. We won 10 and drew one out of 11 when he was on fire. When he was off form our results suffered. And he was still more likely to create something than most others. Without a firing-on-all-cylinders we have no chance of promotion. Without a 60% Samir we won’t finish in...

Re: Dartford v St Albans City Sun 7 May 2023 @ 12.30

Dickie, the double save by Berry as early as the second minute of the second half, firstly by Pierre and then Harvey. We looked more likely to score as SA were poor second half. In fact I rated Berry, as he was a big imposing keeper. In fact, overall, I thought Zane Banton was their best player and...

Re: Dartford v St Albans City Sun 7 May 2023 @ 12.30

All these chances we missed: Coulson had a one-on-one from a great through-ball from Carruthers (and I’d give credit to the keeper for the save rather than criticise Coulson for not scoring), but apart from that I can’t recall a great deal. We had a couple at the away end but they were given offside...

Re: Dartford v St Albans City Sun 7 May 2023 @ 12.30

Pointless saying it this year as will be seen as sour grapes but from next year there should be no penalties. The team finishing higher should go through after extra time. The opponents have had 46 games and 120mins to finish above and if they couldn’t do that then shouldn’t have the further lotter...

Re: Dartford v St Albans City Sun 7 May 2023 @ 12.30

First half: we were the better team. And when you’re the better team in the first half you MUST go in at halftime ahead. This is basically where we lost it. We allowed a shit corner to go through the bloke at the front post (Statham?) when it should have been cleared. Other than that our goal hadn’t...

Re: Dartford v Chelmsford City Sat 25 Mar 2023

With the chances we had, and going 1-0 up we should have won the game, but ultimately it’s no surprise we lost as we invited pressure. First half we played some good stuff, should have been a couple up. But 2nd half we decided to sit back, lump it up into the wind, and let Chelmsford come at us. We ...

https://mobile.twitter.com/dartfordfc/status/1638904285999296512/photo/1 Think Bobby Dunn’s from Bromley, or that way anyway. He was certainly at Bromley FC as a youth. My boy played with him for a year at Sevenoaks Town, as well as against him a few times. Bobby went Sevenoaks for the last year of...

Re: Worthing v Dartford Sat 28 Jan 2023

We’ve lost too many games to win the league now, but bar a massive collapse we’ll finish in the top 4 which is about where I expected. I wouldn’t have a great deal of optimism about the play-offs, but there are plenty of games left for that to change.

Re: Dartford v Hemel Hempstead Town Sat 14 Jan 2023

Bonner & Connor were ok, yet we still let in three. Perhaps they didn’t have enough protection from the midfielders who all had bad games. We win games by controlling midfield. Samir looked not his usual self, Coulson tried hard but nothing worked, and I don’t recall Jack Smith touching the ball...

Re: Dartford v Ebbsfleet Sun 1 Jan 2023 @ 3pm

Not at our best today - played better on Boxing Day, I thought, but to come away with a 4-0……things are looking good for the future. No team plays well every week, and you might be at your best only a handful of times a season, so to win comfortably when not playing well is what gets you to the top....
