Re: New Manager.
Makes me laugh and sigh in equal measure when someone has a point of view that is different to everyone else and they get ganged up on and told they’re not fans. Dear me. Bullies rule, eh? Oh no, not this old chestnut again. Usually it takes the form of saying "oh you can't say anything on her...

Re: Dartford v Chippenham Town Tue 13 Feb 2024
Am i alone in thinking that Shomotun looked easy to play against? Let him go down the line because he has no right foot, and ensure that when he cuts inside there’s always an opponent in the way? He barely beat his man all night yet won man of the match. And he was our only outlet.

Re: Dartford v Chippenham Town Tue 13 Feb 2024
The first-half performance, let’s not get carried away, was good enough to have won a game against mediocre opponents, but we couldn’t do that. The 2nd half was shocking. The reaction, or lack of, to going a goal behind defines our season. It has relegation written all over it. We can’t beat anyone....

Re: Bath City v Dartford Sat 10 Feb 2024
The previous charlatan has left us with a squad that is woefully inadequate. Plenty of effort, but a severe lack of quality as well as quantity. The three players who improved us are no longer with us, and one even played against us today, to rub salt into the wounds. TB has a big job. Who would wan...

Tom Bonner was there last night, but I notice this morning that Cray Wanderers had a game. Is Bonner not with Cray anymore?

Re: Maidstone v Dartford Tue 9 Jan 2024
As a Maidstone resident I had to go to this one. I have the hump. We played well for an hour. Certainly well enough to win. But we didn’t seem keen to kill the game off. Couldn’t clear two balls across our box. And despite huffing and puffing late on, didn’t look like we’d come back. At 1-1 I would ...

Re: Weston-super-Mare v Dartford Sat 6 Jan 2024
Neither the manager nor the players set out to do a shit job, but the late-goals thing is clearly an issue. It’s happened regularly under Dowson’s reign (Chelmsford at home last season stands out). Dowson is either (a) in the process of rectifying it, (b) not yet got round to dealing with it, (c) to...

Re: Dartford v St Albans City Sat 23 Dec 2023
Dowson is too arrogant. The board will have to act as he won’t do the honourable thing. I am not confident that the board will act in the next 24 hours so we are stuck with him for both Welling games, but I feel they will have no option after 30th December.

Re: Dartford v St Albans City Sat 23 Dec 2023
I was going to rant about Dowson, and I will, but firstly I’ll agree with Grassbank: the referee did a good job. Well done to her. I didn’t even need to slag off the Lino at the car park end first half, and he agreed with me that it was very boring. To be honest, being on the end of bad decisions is...

Re: Dartford v Yeovil Town Sat 9th Dec 2023
It was knife-through-butter stuff for the first 15 minutes so credit to us for staying in it. It would have been a heavy defeat without the recent acquisitions. Sandford, Chin and Alexander are simply better quality than those they have replaced. They, along with Yeovil in general, are the standard ...

Re: FA Trophy 2nd Qualifying Round - Dartford v Maidstone Sat Nov 18 2023
Football can do that to you if you don’t put the ball in the net. Maidstone had nothing, but we still weren’t good enough to overcome them. We don’t create lots of chances, but occasionally we are clinical, and, Ebbsfleet last season apart, usually on days when we let in a few. We were tight at the ...

Re: Dartford v Chelmsford City Tue 7 Nov 2023
The first half was boring, brightened only by our goal (out the blue, in all honesty). 2nd half still lacked quality but at least the argy-bargy made it interesting. The officials gave decisions based on guesswork. We were better with 10 men as we had no target man and therefore had to play football...

Re: Dartford v Havant and Waterlooville Sat 21 Oct 2023
We were comfortable, generally, but don’t forget that Havant missed a couple of sitters: Jebb’s near the end, and in the first half their no. 10 side-footed one wide when putting his foot through it would surely have made it 1-1. We deserved the win, but on a different day….. I suppose we earnt the ...

Re: Hampton & Richmond v Dartford Sat 14 Oct 2023
Kind of game to bring crowds back at home, if u see 7 goals ,missed penalty, loads of talking points, I don’t mind losing if entertained. I don’t want to get in play offs with hoof ball, would rather be mid table watching cracking games win lose or draw If the players have given their all then what...

Re: Tom Bonner
f*cking hell, just read this. I feel a bit let down, if I’m honest. Fair enough if he wants to retire, but to do the dirty of the Darts is another thing. He obviously didn’t want to retire, he just didn’t want to play for Dartford any more. Fine, but I really hope no one licks his arse when he plays...

Re: News from around the National League South
My next game is the Havant match and being a King admirer I'm looking forward to the banter on here. My mate Pat and I were kit sponsors of Jacob, he in my opinion was a great little player and I'm looking forward to seeing him again. No surprise that Kingy has him back with him as he also had him ...

Re: Dartford v Tonbridge Angels Sat 23 Sep 2023
The most important thing is was we were fighting for the shirt, there was a desire to win and plenty of tackling. Win, lose or draw that is what we expect. From the back to the front we were working hard, although you could argue we ran out of a bit o steam 2nd half. Would have taken off Manor rathe...

Re: Statement from the board - 19 September 2023
The dreaded Vote of Confidence. The board are saying they believe Alan Dowson will turn it around and they don’t want to sack him (fair enough) and are trying to encourage the fans to get behind him (will take a lot more than that)…..but if things don’t improve…..they may have no choice but to pull ...
