Super League Proposals

Hard to believe that Dartford is not considered to be one of the top six, but at least it will save us from facing long midweek journeys.

On a serious note, why does the Government believe it should act to prevent six businesses from changing their business plan? What business is it of Government if six clubs choose to play in a different league next year? The Premier League is a commercial concern as are the six clubs involved. The State has no ownership in any of these entities.

Trying to stop businesses from improving their commercial performance is not the job of Government. It should leave the football clubs alone and concentrate on opening up the hospitality and leisure sector.

Talk about a house of cards, this idea hasn't taken long to collapse. Strange that these clubs who think of themselves as progressive modern companies do not appear to have done some basic ground work before opening their mouths. Good old fashioned cricket has changed enormously over the past 20 years whilst still not entirely throwing out the baby with the bathwater. Like them or not but t20 cricket and the upcoming 100 was/will be introduced after extensive surveying of current and possible spectators. So when objections and doubts were raised they had some facts and figures to come back with so t20 was given a chance and has become very popular growing from the county teams in England & Wales to take root in the whole cricket world, and interested many non traditional cricket playing nations to take up the game. Whereas this lot were so up their own backsides they felt they just needed to click their fingers and it would all happen. Real Madrid still seem to think it is a good idea, pity they will no one left to play.
That would put them worse off those little island leagues that only have two teams continually playing against each other. Madrid would have to play with themselves, which seems rather appropriate.
