Can you guess which team has to play behind closed doors tonight? I am not sure if we should laugh or cry.

The current rate in Dartford is of concern. It would appear to be very unlikely that fans will be watching Dartford over the festive season. With no football and no pubs open, I fear that there will be very little festive cheer this Christmas. Roll on 2021.

It didn't make much difference as their game has been abandoned after 20 minutes due to thick fog. Chippenham were also playing in their grey away kit which probably didn't help matters!!

Welling (Bexley) 684 High Alert - so at least their home games could go ahead with 'limited' fans ???!!!

Welling's games have always been played in front of limited fans.

Just seen the highlights, if you can call it that, of Angels game with Chippenham.
Looking at the mist descending during the warm up I'm surprised they even kicked off in the first place.
By the time the game was abandoned, Chippenham, in their camouflaged fog kit, resembled the aliens emerging from the mother ship scene in Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

The Covid-19 lottery continues today as Dartford play a friendly behind closed doors, whilst two teams in our league (Concord & Welling) with a higher Covid-19 rate at the ground post code address will play matches in front of a paying crowd.

On Thursday, the Government will announce the lottery winners and losers for the next fortnight. We have two home games and possibly three in that period. Thankfully when the last announcement was made, a number of Kent Tory MPs voted against the Government to show their anger at the badly planned lockdown areas, especially the decision to treat Kent as one unit. Sadly, our MP did not join them, but supported the Government approach.

Depending on how they choose to carve up the country this time and depending on what data they choose to believe, we could face the prospect of being allowed to watch the festive match against our neighbours at our own ground, but the reverse fixture being played behind closed doors. The matches planned towards the end of December and just into the New Year could attract large crowds and I expect, would be a great financial boost to the club. The benefit to the community is harder to measure, but I am sure that there are fans missing the match day banter and friendship.

I have my fingers crossed for an announcement on Thursday that will see fans return to all grounds, but I fear that such an announcement is currently some way off.
