Darts v East Thurrock
Darts v East Thurrock
Hope to make this one, hard core loyal fans will be there hoping for a better performance and a much needed result. Big pressure on the team and management. Need the experienced players to drive us forward and those new players need to repay the faith put in them to wear the famous shirt.

Can't everyone drop the Alex Wall thing please. He looked woeful pre season. The only time he looked better was in the second half of the Thamesmead friendly and as Tommy Warrilow said it was only as the kids had come on. If Kudas had moved on to Concord he could well have had 6 in 6. It's the fact we are creating little in fact if anything. Alex Wall may well have not scored for us. It's a point I know that everyone is bringing up but who really knows what he would have done for DFC. The management made a logical decision and they have explained the reason why and yet I have seen quotes on here saying things like " Was their other reasons". Yes I cannot dispute its not been good but while quotes of we are 17th are being banded about people fail to mention if we had 3 more points we would be 6th.

I fully accept the reasons given for the decision are genuine, I just happen to think it was a massive error of judgement. I thought so at the time and I still think so now. We've managed 3 goals in 6 games and that's with 3 penalties!!!Arthur Horsefield wrote:Can't everyone drop the Alex Wall thing please. He looked woeful pre season. I'm not sure where this unfounded positivity of yours is coming from considering how dreadful our performances have been. It's in stark contrast to the opinions you shared with me last season when most of us felt we had a team to be proud of. Baffling.
… and let's be clear, the Alex Wall "thing" started from the moment he departed and is not a reaction to his 6 goals in 6 games.

Yes Spike has got this right lots of fans talked about re-signing Alex Wall after he left the first time around and then it appeared that the new management team had secured his services and I was so pleased I used his name as part of a password at work which I can't change until the end of the month.Spike said

So for me it is not just about him now scoring 6 goals that only rubs salt into the wound, its the thought that here was a forward that I wanted to see starting up front for us at the beginning of the season along with many other fans

I hope Philpot keeps his place against East Thurrock. He played well in the first half and looked dangerous at times. He’s obviously desperate to score and I think once he gets one goal they’ll start flowing. On current evidence I would continue starting him over Sam-Yorke, especially if we are only playing with one up top (which is how we seemed to be playing yesterday?). DS-Y is guilty of trying to do too much himself, and seems to regularly lose possession when he does get the ball. He’s a bit of a battering ram, which is fine when you are in the box, but at the moment he’s picking up the ball too deep and giving himself too much to do. That’s not necessarily his fault, as we aren’t getting the ball into the final third enough. But Philpot is more in the mould of Pugh- his first touch is good and he looks to bring other players into the game with a quick pass. We look a better team with Philpot playing. Not a good team, just slightly less bad.

Ibrahim
Roast, Vint, Bonner, Onyemah
Isaac, Bradbrooke
Greenhalgh, Philpot, Oyenuga
if Noble is fit he would be the missing one to make the 11.

In my humble opinion there are 3 x players at least in that line-up that are just not good enough Parky!!
But unfortunately we have no-one better in the squad to replace them with!!

I wonder if we will see ex Darts Burnsie, Cornhill and the ex England defender Paul Konchesky tomorrow line up for The Rocks? (anyone know or care why they are 'The Rocks'?)
