Kings X1 Punjab IPL
Kingys Punjab team have now won their last 2 matches today against the league leaders the Delhi Capitals. There is no limit to this mans talent. His next game is the Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday.

Mick we can carry on within this thread. Luckily without a game this weekend Kingy can concentrate on the Sunrisers match. Many folk talk about the Peter Taylor years, but for me the Glen Coupland team was one of the best. I leave the Morgan years out for the moment. I loved that side i really did. This was TBs era of course and wow what a player. I can remember him hitting one on the half volley on the turn directly into the bottom corner at the Watling Street end. It was right by me. Was it against Ashington or Blyth Spartans. But what a trophy run. Altrincham the best team around the time walloped at Watling Street. As I say with Willie O, his namesake Aidan, TB etc etc i just loved that time I really did more than any other. P.S
Kingy will get a half century out Glen Maxwell Saturday mark my words.

My abiding memory of TB is of him being in the box with his back to goal, crouched with arms spread to protect the ball from a big centre half trying to get around him before spinning and hitting the ball into the corner of the net. Did it happen or is it just a colourful memory?
We certainly have had some good teams over the last 50 years (and probably before, but I'm not old enough to remember further back that that).

He would be in the greatest DFC team ever Mick for sure, be it 50 or 100 years watching. As for the goal we may be talking about the exact one. Watling Street end looking down it would have been to the keepers right hand corner. I can see him hitting now.mickw wrote: ↑Wed Oct 21, 2020 10:53 pm My abiding memory of TB is of him being in the box with his back to goal, crouched with arms spread to protect the ball from a big centre half trying to get around him before spinning and hitting the ball into the corner of the net. Don't think it was Ashington or Blyth Spartans Reg, more likely Bishop Auckland if memory serves well. They had both their substitutes sent off before the end of the game. If memory serves well, one for stamping on Sullivan A. But then again I may be wrong.

It was in the Bishop Stortford semi final season. We were drawn at home in every round i think ?Ozymandias wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 8:30 am Don't think it was Ashington or Blyth Spartans Reg, more likely Bishop Auckland if memory serves well.
