Wealdstone home Saturday 29th February

Post by TonyH »

This’ll be a belter. The Stones lost at home to Chelmsford on Tuesday night but haven’t dropped too many points this season. Our team selection should be very interesting. SK in his post-March interview on Tuesday night said we’d be missing players for Saturday - I guess he means Jack Jebb? Anyone else? ER must start. I think he’ll stick with AJ in goal and Hydey will return to the starting 11. Thoughts on the game anyone?

If I’d heard King’s post-March interview, I could tell you exactly what side to put out!

Thoughts on the game Tony. I cant wait, every week I cant wait. It's a joy to watch, and the squad assembled is brilliant so much so I go into matches now with so much enthusiasm, and do you know what, when we have suffered a reverse, I never come away too despondent nowadays, as I know the man in charge will put it right the next week. As Lennylenny put it in the previous thread, it's a great laugh with people, the club is at such a height. Speaking to an Ebbsfleet pal, and the doom and gloom there. Premiership supporters moaning about VAR etc etc... My only moan about DFC is they dont play every day. The results and the Steve King style of football is putting feet on the terraces, so bring on the raider and Wealdstone, bring them on.

If you witnessed how Jay turned the pitch around after the u23s match on Monday to the pitch that was played on Tuesday night you will realise the brilliance of the man. Every chance I reckon

So along comes the toughest test so far, the league leaders. Not sure I like the sound of key players being missing but that aside, not the sort of game that the team need firing up for, we are at home and a play off spot to fight for, let’s go DFC!

Any sign of live online commentary yet?

I’m guessing the players missing will be Jack Jepp and one of the fullbacks (can’t remember which one) as both used to play for Wealdstone. I think we actually signed both players from them.

It’s going to be a real tough game but one everyone is looking forward to.

Here are the thoughts of our opponent's manager.

https://www.kilburntimes.co.uk/sport/fo ... -1-6532628

It says that Jack Jebb could be available to play and the fact that he only turned out 9 times for our opponents this season, suggests that they have strength in their midfield area. However, I feel that if Hyde & Bansal-McNulty start we have a very good chance of a result and the difference could be the 12th man on the terrace being the deciding factor of the game. They are beatable.

Would like to think that Jordan Wynter is going to fit it as a starter Saturday. So looking forward to this one.
