Very sorry to read Kent online today that it appears Phil has thrown a moody and simply not bothered to turn up for our game at Weston and won't play for the club again. Adam Flanagan hinted the club took a chance on Phil because he has previous for this sort of behaviour. A great shame because on his day he looked a very good player and who could forget his wonderful goals against Bath and Gloucester City.

Well, that explains that mystery. Shame.

Having been aware of some of his past problems when he signed this is no great shock, but what an appalling waste of talent.

There were rumours going around at Weston that he hadn't turned up and now that has been confirmed the club has 100% done the right thing.
I always wondered how it would work out when after his first good game for us at Wealdstone he commented along the lines that he had never worked so hard in a game!!
On his day Phil is a good player but it seems as if the penny still hasn't dropped and by the time he realises it may be too late for him to fulfill his potential.

Has had a very good goal scoring record at our current level and played a small part in our run of excellent form but he has also played a large part in our recent downturn since the non appearance at WSM. Shame as I thought AF & JC had found a reliable goalscoring striker.

It is very easy to criticise Phil Roberts but we do not know what happens in the player's lives outside the world of football.

Nevertheless, Phil will be a significant loss to DFC in our quest for the Play Offs.
