New forum/Q & A

Whilst doing some maintenance last night on the forum, there was a serious database error which has, it seems, damaged the database to the point that it is unusable.
There have been some issues with the previous forum which were being managed but it seems that the best option would be to start again, from fresh.
You WILL need to register again and it will take some time to rebuild the forum, but I'm sure things will work out.
If you have any questions, please post them in here and I will try to get them answered.

Sorry to hear of the forum problems Gary, but thanks for all your efforts in getting a new one set up.
Missed my daily fix of news and controversy yesterday, but at least heard about our new midfield signing on the club's site.
Look forward to normal service being resumed very soon.

Well done Gary on getting the new site up and running so quickly. It has been a few years since the last major crash which caused us all to re-register with a new provider, and now again today. I was looking at approaching 600 posts on the lost site (597), so it was some time ago.
What will be so disappointing is to lose all the archived history contained in the previous database, which I guess will be lost forever.
Long live 'PureDFC'.
Thanks Gary

I'm pretty sure it's gone forever. This has been a huge frustration for me.

Oh no that must be a major ball ache for you Gary, well done on getting things up and running again so quickly. It was only by shear luck I actually managed to find this new site.
Are you able to get a notification put on the official site with the new site address in case lots of other fans don't realise there is a new site now?

I've put a redirect in from the old forum page so it should bring anyone who visits that page to this one.

Sorry to hear the news Gary, I have been at a loss all morning not working much from home just trying to get up and running on the new site.
I can't think how you must feel if all of the history is lost but a new season to come and we can all start from scratch along with the formation of the new team and I'm sure that all of the regular posters will be back on line soon
Regards Trevor

Fingers crossed that works then, I know each time I tried to log on to the previous site I kept getting an error message and nothing else.

I have just tested the old site and as The 5th says it still comes up as unobtainable at the moment
