Club statement on the Club Twitter. I wasn't there so cannot comment, but have felt that excessive bad language has been a problem at P. P. for a while, we make such a point of being a family and community club.

Board issue statement about fans who haven’t seen a competitive game in yonks, just imagine your team doing well and fans enjoying it, all coming across woke. Players went straight to the fans and a few shared hugs. The entire team and management clapped the fans for their support and our board wallow in throwing a big shadow over it. If you want to start banning people for that then the games gone.

In my opinion, the language at times is quite bad, does not bother me but can see how it may upset some but this sort of language will find at all grounds.
As for the behaviour getting on the pitch after the goals were scored was not right but the players did run to the supporters, The stick the very young boy balls got was unwarranted in my opinion , The Mascot who walked through the middle of the supporters was asking for some stick and he must of known it would happen so why did he not walk in front of them rather than through them, The goalie got a lot of stick in the game but he seemed to give some back and in fact clapped our support at the end of the game,,

Fair enough, but based on the statement, our board would ban people for supporting the club, should the 17000 Spurs fans who just sang ‘your support is Fu@@ing Sh#t’ be banned to? Put the moment in context!

What Tottenham do is up to them, but maybe if Authorities handed out some swingeing fines maybe they would. There was a comment on one of the friendly match threads about someone persistently swearing and it being reported to a steward who said there was nothing thy could do about it. In view of the Board's statement perhaps the stewards could be told there is something they can do about it.

Does that apply to the players? Does it apply to the St Albans steward who was telling people to F off? Just take a step back and think, is swearing part and parcel of football? Are you actually saying that clubs are getting fines for their fans swearing? I get racist, homophobic stuff but if it’s general swearing, then the games gone. Let’s sing your support is rather poor then.

I've seen on the twitter that somebody claimed a ball boy was racially abused? But then I've also seen people jump on it and deny that claim saying that the ballboy was giving abuse (as well as throwing objects) and getting abuse back but no racism was involved? I unfortunately couldn't make the game yesterday so can't say what did/didn't happen but surely another fan/steward/goalkeeper would have heard it if that was the case? If it was racism it does need to be investigated and if found that someone was guilty, they do need to be banned but if it was made up then the punishment should be as bad as a false claim could seriously damage someone's personal life/career.
Hopefully the club/St Albans can get to the bottom of it and we can enjoy the season going forward as imo you cannot take action for simply "bad language" - it's football people will swear - if yesterday is anything to go by what a season it will be!

Like it or not, going onto the playing area is a criminal offence - Football (Offences) Act 1991. There is a chance the Club will be reported, and chance of a fine.
The language would not be to my taste, and I think we should try to set an example as a community club but others may have a different opinion on that, but going onto the playing area (even in celebration of a goal) is in black and white.

Hi Gary, was great to see you yesterday.
Very short and selective memories, I’m old enough to remember back in the day when members of our board entered the playing area when celebrating! Some of them were at the back of the stand at Watling Street calling for the then managers head. That’s not at all friendly and in the community spirit is it?
In the circumstances, and the fact it’s been some 20 months and the players went to the fans and hugging them, perhaps the reaction is over the top. I’m sure the few that jumped the wall will not do it again.
Lessons learned.
