Was told of another 2 names yesterday who has applied.
Well are you going to tell us, or are you sworn to secrecy
Not been sworn to secrecy but its not my place to say but there has been a lot of interest.
Sorry BB but i don't think that it's any secret that the position is attracting a lot of interest, we already know of four names that have been bandied about, i've even heard that Teddy Sheringham may be a long shot? very much doubt it though

so you hearing of two others makes no difference to any outcome , it just adds to the equation .

I hope that this thread is totally superfluous to the selection of any Manager interviewed or selected, by The Company Board.
This is not a "Tin Pot" enterprise, run on the whims and wallet of someone who happens to be in charge , as we have seen elsewhere. Our Club entity is a renowned Business structure, ensuring the safety of Football in this area.
At the end of the day, whether any candidate Manager is travelling from Hampshire, Essex, or Norfolk, it will have an effect on how things are structured with training and staff interactions. Pick the Man who simply "Polls well " and is media savvy, is in my mind, not good husbandry. The Club has been structured and run, to ring fence it's existence as a Company , Safe, and outside the vagaries of Non League Football in this Country.
The process of due diligence may take longer than some would like, but, I come to games mindful of what we have, and are achieving. I come to watch Football, believing either Team could win on their day. - That's the reality of Sport. - If we don't trust our Company Board , there is no longer a Bond between Us and Football here at Dartford.
Just my point of view.
I do struggle at times to understand what you are taking about but i think i've just about got it this time as you have alluded to it in previous posts.
I do not think this thread "is totally superfluous" and for you to suggest that we should all just sit back and be quiet little sheep is an insult to every supporter of this club. The supporters follow home and away in good numbers, raise thousands of pounds to support the club (Supporters Association recent news) and ironically we have some supporters who are directors and as you seem to keep forgetting the board report to the shareholders and these are all supporters. So IMO we have every right to suggest who we believe would be a good candidate and i hope the board go for the best applicant who they believe is most likely to get results and not the easy/safe option that many feel they did previously.
And why does it matter where that applicant lives, if that was the case are you suggesting we should sack all the players that don't live local as well. Also, if the board sit down and decide on a candidate i guess they will have had a "poll" between them so is that wrong as well.
I have total confidence that the board will continue to run the club in a sensible financial way so nobody should be excluded because what some say may or may not have happened at previous clubs. Our club is run well and i'm sure that will continue regardless of who is appointed.

Did anyone else hear on Radio Kent yesterday that TB was supposed to have flown on holiday yesterday with his family. He ended up having to cancel his flight until 10pm last night so he could meet up with his family.

This thread is about the new manager is it not ? Still people are going on about Jamie and Adam and what may have happened and what they said etc ... its finished. If as everyone is suggesting that it was down to them and didnt have anything to do with Tony then that chat is surely superfluous. Move on. They are no longer at the helm. Why not chat about the way forward
It's not really been about Jamie & Adam, it's been about Tony Burman and his influence at the club. Some ill informed people have continually cast aspersions that TB is some sort of dark overlord who meddles in the managerial affairs and they have suggested that his mere presence will deter new managers from coming. There is no evidence to support this, it is just something they have conjured up in their heads by putting 2 and 2 together and getting 48. In my opinion this is downright disrespectful to a man who has and continues to devote most of his life to this club and whose achievements eclipse any other in our entire history.
So yes, it is superfluous to the way forward, but the fact that it is untrue is what MAKES it superfluous. So personally I'm pleased that so many people were quick to give this silly notion both barrels of the verbal shotgun.

Yes I heard it and it doesn't surprise me. The guy has DFC running through his veins and it sickens me when people spout some of the drivel that they do on here.

You just beat me to it, Spike. It says so much about TB and his selfless actions to ensure that our club is never sold short on his part.

Some of the boloney spouted on here suggesting TB may have meddled with the previous incumbents signings or tactics or team selections would make Trump blush. No substance at all just mischief making. Perhaps those peddling this nonsense have an ulterior motive?

Spot on Park Life. I don't know if Mr Perfect was around when this club was reborn, but it was rebuilt with equal voting shares owned by the fans and it belongs to the fans. I know that the share structure has changed a bit since then, but I'd like to think that the core principles remain. Indeed our board was composed entirely of fans and the club wouldn't exist at all were it not for us supporters. I know there's a lot of rubbish spouted on here, I'm sure I have contributed a lot of it myself, but whilst individual posts may be insignificant, I think the board very much should take on board views when they are clearly held by vast numbers of people. So, whilst there are obviously lots of different opinions about who the next manager should be, one thought that seems constant throughout is that fans want the next manager to be chosen from ALL the applicants and based simply on who is the best candidate for the job. Most people felt that the last appointment was NOT made on that basis, but from a very small pool of individuals who "knew the Dartford way". Although most fans eventually accepted the appointment, many were a little underwhelmed and felt that the club had put selecting a friendly face ahead of picking the best man. In fact, giving the job to two of them at once made it look even less of a strong decisive decision. I hope they don't make the same mistake again as the club needs everyone pulling in the same direction.

Did people say he meddled with tactics? If someone said that I wouldn’t believe this for a second either.
There is no doubting TBs status at the club. A DFC man, a true legend.
I’m not sure if any of this is in reflection to things I’ve said but I’ve only mentioned what TB said on his podcast and how it might seem for someone coming in. This is very different to how it’s being portrayed in posts above.
I would imagine every DFC fan knows what this man has done for this club and has the respect of everyone connected.
There is no doubt ever about this mans deserved stature at this club.
