Hi Gregg, I agree with most of the above and to a certain extent on finances but I we still think we had a very big budget for this level. For instance, we signed a player for £800 a week only to let him go out on load for the remainder of the season because he was not good enough for this level. I guess that only Woking, Torquay, Billericary, Wealdstone and Chelmsford would have started with a larger budget. Then there is all the loan players, some of which were almost on 1k per week from what I have heard.
Those figures quoted are quite frankly ridiculous!! I doubt any contracted player at DFC is on more than £400 per week tops. And my belief is that for signing a loanee it is customary to pay 50% of their salary, but this can be lower if agreed between both clubs!!

If anyone wants Chris Kinnears number just let me know. He would jump at the chance to join us, especially as he will have more time on his hands after he retires from teaching. Ticks all the right boxes, had to work on a tight budget at Dover and had to rebuild the team every season because Uncle Jim would not sign off two year contracts. Also balanced the books with good cup runs and player transfers. Just look at his CV, very articulate and has an algorithm/ formula for all non- league players.
It's not nice to see any Dartford Manager under fire but like others on here, I think both managers have to go purely due to their numerous poor decisions and the muddled thinking behind those decisions. I'm sure they are both decent people and nobody wanted them to fail but I cannot see them turning things around when you see the managers of other teams at our level, dare I say it but they are light years behind that twat down at the bus stop.
On a logical level, I would say that we are the premier league level of say Arsenal or Tottenham and if one of those teams had finished in tenth place there would be a taxi for the manager. It's not nice and I fully expect our board to make the correct call by thinking with their heads and not their hearts.

I think it is absolutely crucial that TB remains at the club regardless of who the manager is.
Mate did you listen to TBs podcast. He does more than most think. Too much in some opinions. The academy is fine but it’s nit just that.
Yes mate I did and getting to know TB reasonably well over all the years I do not think for one second he would interfere unlesss asked.

Just have a chat with DSY or one of our players father M1, this caused a lot of dressing room unrest, where one player is on double bubble and deemed not good enough for the first team. We could have had in two players for this and it says it all about the management really and you are correct, most players are on or around the 300/400 bracket. Loan signings from higher clubs are always more expensive, it's a business and even football league clubs have to balance the books. The likes of Ba & McQueen don't come cheap and you would be in for a mighty surprise if you knew how much these guys were on. They say that the average player wage for The National is between £1200-1500 a week, for this reason I am glad we are still at this level as we are still one of the big boys.
Yes, its hypothetical and speculation from a supporters perspective but I didn't just make this up. It came from various respected sources. I'm sure someone else on here will back this up.

Well, I must admit, it's certainly kicked off on here. I didn't go yesterday. So can't comment on the performance.
I have to agree that Oxford City were the best team seen by me at PP this season and did think/agree with Pete, that we would have to watch Tshimanga. I don't know if he scored but you have to ask, if league clubs were watching him early on, what is he still doing at City?
I did also feel that the only time we looked anything like getting into the play-offs was when Phil Roberts was in goal scoring form. And I also feel that Phil's disinterest started when Darren McQueen turned up. Not saying that Darren isn't a good player, his speed was electric. But in cases, when he came on as sub, Phil faded. But then if Phil couldn't hack competition, that was his problem and Dartford's.
A lot of excuses can be made this year, and it certainly turned out to be the rollercoaster ride that was predicted by a few (including myself). It didn't disappoint, only the outcome.
Also, on here turned out to be very 'toxic' and I was happy to be off it sometimes. Far so more than last season and the TB effect. I'm not going into that, but do feel that what we have at Dartford now is possibly what I call, a 'Solksjaer' situation. I was disappointed with the appointment of the lads.( Stand by an ear bashing). But that is by and by. What's done is done. But like others on here, am not confident for next season. Next year will be tougher in my books regarding who is in this division, and also the quality in the players that have to come in for a vast majority of the players we have at the moment.
For me 5 from the possible 24 points in the last eight games was not play-off material. Ok, I know we had injuries but the depth/quality of squad was not good enough. And it was something that didn't get past a few on here, long before January.
I look forward to next season with sadly, trepidation. But look forward I do.
Also some people say that having two quality managers involved at a club may not/doesn't work. I beg to say that I don't think that Maidstone will be having such a turbulent time next season. For me, as much as Arty see's our duo in a God like status, Coyle and Flanagan came to us from mediocre teams to create a 'mediocre' team. Those two 'mediocre' teams they left both got to the play-off positions this season.

With that, I have to thank the excellent work that Mr Gary Clark puts in place with this forum and yes Pete Samson, you did warn us beforehand about Tshimanga.
The forum used to be great. We had "Mrs Gaz" at home relaying the action from "Mr Gaz" at the ground (before social media took hold). People used to get on, on here, plenty of posts, plenty of people online & it was great. Then as things progressed, you would get the odd whinger, then it would be people having a go at each other & not in a friendly way. This resulted in people posting less.
I posted some stats this season to someone's question, only to be called an anorak by someone else. No, not an anorak, just run a website for the past 13 years with stats on, apologies for that. Maybe I should stop it so you'll feel better?
Sorry my friend , but if you are taking being called an ANORAK! as being offensive , then you really need to get things into perspective? It was intended to be a light hearted joke at the time of posting;nothing more, so no need for needless apologies ? And as for making me feel better,oh dear??

Be careful as its getting a bit hot on this forum at the moment and Snowflakes tend to melt in the heat.

So, looking as an outsider, as I do nowadays, can I just clear something up?
We did not reach the playoffs.
We have used over 30 players this season, most of them not good enough.
We won 1 game out of the last eight.
Only 5 teams scored less goals than us.
But, if I talk to one of the managers, he will tell me how good they are?

But if you talk to most honest fans they will tell you, it’s all gone wrong on and off the field and drastic action action needs taking to stop the rot
