Hi Llamaman, long time no chat. I have been watching Bonnyrigg all season and they are off to another flyer. I will get back to you soon on your post, but at the moment I am busy with things. Will chat soon

Re: What a game.
Good old George Hunter, always rated him. Shame that everything came to an earth shattering halt all round. Last season i seem to remember Bonnyrigg took Kelty to the wire but had lost a bit of momentum in February.
I look in the NLP at the even lower leagues in Scotland and I see that Clydebank have a side. Is the phoenix of the old Clydebank side.? Didn't they go into some sort of amalgamation with another club? Was it 80's or 90's?
Of course this all started with my question about Third Lanark which was solved by you with an interesting video I believe.
Of course, if I look for a footie result in Scotland (apart from Bonnyrigg now) it has always been Raith Rovers. Don't ask me why but I am always keen on their games.
Anyway, good to hear from you again Llamaman, I'm sure our communications will cause no amount of interest to no one else, so I'm confident of not hearing from Reggie anytime soon
Please can you get back to me on the demise of Clydebank.
Have a good Christmas.

Re: What a game.
Clydebank were in serious financial difficulties in2002, the same time as Airdrieonians, playing in Airdrie 12 miles from Glasgow, found themselves in the same position. The clubs decided to amalgamate as Airdrie United and sell Clydebank's ground to meet their debts. The new club played at the ground in Airdrie, but some Clydebank supporters decided to carry on the club name with a reformed team playing in Clydebank. So they are now in the West of Scotland League & back in 2013 Airdrie United reverted to playing under the name of Airdrieonians and are currently in SPFL Division 1, wearing their distinctive large diamond designed shirts.

Was it only 2002? Seemed to be early 90's to me. Tempus Fugit.
Good for the supporters of Clydebank, keeping the name going.

Ozymandias start the new year by streaming Bonnyrigg's Scottish Cup Tie tomorrow. After two failed attempts due to a waterlogged pitch they are hoping for third time lucky tomorrow @ 3pm home to Borrowstouness United for the right to play away to Dundee in the next round on Saturday week.
All the action for the bargain price of £4-99, it is the big match in Scotland this weekend, though Rangers v Celtic on the 2nd is attracting some attention. If The Roses opponents names seems a bit of a mouthful, the team and the town is generally known as Bo'ness

Re: What a game.
Scottish football is such fun. The Bonnyrigg match was postponed twice due to their Dundas Park ground being waterlogged, so was moved to the artificial surface of Ainslie Park home to Edingburgh City, but that is covered by snow & deemed unplayable at 10-15am this morning. Meanwhile Dundas Park is now considered playable & the cuptie will take place there at 3pm today. Good effort. I can understand games on plastic pitches being cancelled due to a heavy covering of snow, but was surprised that Livingstone's recent home game was called off due to an unsafe frozen artificial surface. I didn't realise that could happen to plastic pitches and was one of the advantages of having one.
Re: What a game.
Ozymandias if you can get the BBC Scotland Channel their tie at Dundee is being shown live on Saturday evening , Sportscene starting at 7-30pm. What can the Rose come up with this time? They had a hat-trick hero, all from the penalty, spot in the previous round against Bo'ness on New Years Day.

Re: What a game.
Sorry Llamaman, can't get that. What of Banks o'Dee? What names they have up. Great cup victory for them no doubt. Never heard of them

Re: What a game.
I became hooked on Scottish Football when it was first shown on Sky and they had a midweek magazine programme along the lines of Football Focus.
Got to learn of the lower sides through the Scottish Cup and have followed it since. The standard isn't always that high but the passion and commitment from players, staff and fans makes up for that. A really good game last night, no doubt Dundee deserved the win but they had to work for it. Rose went ahead with an early pen. (var would have reversed the decision, but who cares). Dundee had all the play and equalised with almost the last kick of the 90. Rose got another pen in ET (var would have let it stand) only for Dundee to equalise aall in the first half, but Dundee got the winner in the second. Mark Weir scored both the spot kicks following his 1st Round hattrick of pens all in 5 mins. The Dundee 'keeper made a very good early save and Rose had one cleared off the line beside their pens. Against that Dundee were totally in control, hit the woodwork twice, but the Rose 'keeper and defence were superb. Although almost totally dominated Rose were never became desperate and both teams played some good football. Sadly such a good game was spoilt after the game with racist slurs on twitter against a Dundee player, morons everywhere. Dundee away to St. Johnstone in the 3rd round, Rose would have enjoyed an away day at Perth against a Premier League side, but it wasn't to be.

Re: What a game.
Just seen that outside of the top tier of Scottish football everything has been shut down. Hope it's for not too long.
Also that Banks O'Dee got pipped against Fraserbrough. I look at the lower leagues in the NLP and can't see which League BO'D are in? Any idea?
