I think that's a very fair assessment Harry. Over the years Ryno has been great for us but he obviously can't go on forever and it's fair enough to say he isn't as good as he was a few years ago. Nevertheless, I too felt he was STILL the most creative player we had last season. If we are lucky enough to sign someone better then I would be delighted, but even then I think he could still do a job for us, even if it's coming off the bench for the last 30 mins. I agree with M1 South that this is all a matter of opinion, but Ryno is a member of the elite core that achieved so much for our club and I wouldn't have a bad word said against any of that group. Some of the comments are way over the top and I feel the guy deserves more respect for all that he has contributed over the years.

Agree 100%, he also absolutely loves the club, bleeds Black & White and some of the comments on here and the abuse at some games have been out of order.
I don't think some people realise how much these comments will be hurting him, whether you like him as a player or not he deserves better.

Weird how a couple of posters on this forum can focus on Ryan when, with a little bit of thought they might actually wonder whatever happened to the blokes that worked the other wing over the last 13 seasons. Apart from Dave Martin and Luke Wanadio who else has moved onwards and upwards when they left the Darts. His longevity at this club is because he provides so many assists and chips with a decent number of goals himself. And I don’t understand this concern about him standing out there waiting for the ball. I don’t particularly want him coming inside to get the ball as always is the case when one of our central midfield players is positioned on that flank.
Give me Ryan, warts and all, until we sign that young winger that does a similar job equal or better than him. I’m still waiting after 13 seasons...

I remember clearly the day Ryan signed, I remember the fall out his signing caused with my work friend at that time who was livid we took Ryan and Dave Martin from Slade Green. What a great pair of players! One went on to play Championship football for a while, Ryan stayed with us during arguably the greatest period our club has had. I am convinced that if Ryan had a bit more pace he would have equaled or even surpassed what Dave Martin did.
Here's a simple message to those who deliberately knock our Ryan, not just recently but for years - let it go, you do nothing to add to the reputation of the forum and you are impacting the happiness of Ryan and his family. He is a Darts legend, should never have left and will be remembered fondly for all his great moments. He deserves our praise and gratitude! Who will ever forget all those majestic crosses and those curlers in the top corner - yes and he has produced the goods at Conference National level.
I like many others know his limitations but I would never at any point have swapped Ryan for anyone, he's one of our own and a good lad to boot, has a lovely family, works hard and sacrificed a lot to play for our club, sometimes after nights with little sleep.
I'm gonna post this on a separate thread, not particularly to kick off yet another Ryan debate but to highlight what he has meant to me as a fan over the years and to show him that there are far more fans that love him than not.
Thank you Ryan for everything and the story ain't over.....

Well said Greg
Absolutely covers what most of the Ryno fans think those for or against who cannot argue what he has contributed to the club over a number of years.
Not the greatest fan over the last couple of seasons but he was coming back from injury and whether he starts the match or finishes it from the bench he will continue to put in a number of those telling crosses for the forthcoming season.

Two very strong signings. If we continue to sign players of that quality we will be pushing next season.

Pleased to see Jordan back. It may not be his favoured position, but he was far and away the best player we played at right back last season and did a good job everywhere else too.
I don't know much about Sam Blackman other than he's a midfield player from Concord, who's manager describes him as a box-to-box player. Presumably that means he works hard and does a lot of running, something that always buys credit with the fans. Welcome to Dartford Sam.
Best of luck to them both.
