I did have to look at my T-shirt again to see who I missed off. The subs were largely made up and are not on my shirt but I had missed off Jamie Day, but I'd gladly swap him for Jacob Berkeley Agyepong today. But there are so many down through the years I could probably make up five teams easy.

Am I right in a player called Barry Judges, played at the back in the epic saga that was the FA Cup match against Hillingdon Borough? Probably the best non-league side I have seen. Under manager Jimmy Langley we took them to neutral ground at Brentford. At Hillingdon we got a 1-1 draw and then at Watling Street 0-0. How we lived with them i don't know, but at Brentford they found us out after taking an early lead and got walloped 4-1.
Judges got taken out by Johnny Cozens in a challenge and spat out a tooth right in front of me.

I just missed out on the arrival of Alf Ackerman as I moved north for the first time in the close season.
But Tommy Huckstepp has to be right up there amongst the all time greats. Additionally, in spite of a long line of outstanding goalkeepers in my time supporting the Darts, my vote would go to Dave Underwood, who having been picked up from league football, also returned to League football. He had played for Liverpool standing in for a long time injured keeper and recall with absolute pleasure in the 60s of seeing Dave play for Fulham (in Johnny Haynes day) at Anfield and he received an absolutely wonderful reception from the Anfield crowd on his return to the club for this game. A magic and a proud moment indeed for one young DFC lad in the Anfield Kop that day. Where have all those years gone?

Joined 1958-59 season and played 51 matches that season and scored 54 goals and the 1959-60 season nearly as impressive with 41 games
and 37 goals

Like i say i saw my first Darts game is 1961 and Alf Ackerman was manager, so possibly Tommy Huckstepp had left. One forward i do remember and note i say forward as they what we called them then days and not striker like now was Jimmy Fletcher, who had a bit of a cult following among us school juniors and wasn't a bad player at all, but was probably past his peak when he came to us, and had done the rounds in Kent football, but always gave 100% and scored goals. To us kids he was always our best player and never made a mistake.The innocence of young schoolkids i guess. Happy days.

Given how the forwards of teams were set up in those days (two out-and-out wingers, two inside forwards and one centre forward), there would have been no room for Tommy H in Alf’s team. Whether Tommy chose to leave of his own accord or had his cards marked by Alf, we may never know.

Did Tommy leave before Alf took over? I'm not sure on the timeline

I first watched Dartford in Alf's first season and Tommy was not around then.

Liam Nash score's the 5th and winning goal today for Hornchurch against M@id£tone.

One of their earlier goals was scored by ex. Dart Ronnie Winn.

Don’t think Ronnie Winn played forever first team or academy I remember him playing for Sunday team With his twin brother. I might be wrong
