Not sour grapes, I promise. I've already exchanged views with Kingy, who is a friend of twenty years and remains so. But, having watched the whole video, a couple of contentious decisions -
Greg Luer spends his afternoons lurking on touchlines a few inches onside, waiting for balls like that one. The video isn't quite conclusive but he was almost certainly not offside when the pass was played.
Darren McQueen and Franklin Domi tangled on the touchline, McQueen did flick out at Domi, more a trip than a kick. Not a red card. Arguably a yellow but the referee probably didn't see it.
The throw-in, late on at 1-2, from West to Luer was not touched by any other player. It was a simple error by the linesman, who apologised afterwards. We'd be pushing our luck to claim that it cost Eastbourne an equaliser, but it certainly curtailed a scoring chance.
And (before I put my tin hat on and retreat) that was the softest penalty of the season - if a penalty at all. A yard inside the area, going nowhere, minimal contact and no intent to foul. Gee.
See you next season, unless you storm to promotion and/or we fail to scrape another dozen points together. Neither is certain. All good wishes.

As you say, the video is inconclusive and Luer is pretty quick so probably the right decision. Not sure about Sesay's performance though; he came a long way out, committed himself, then stopped. He seems a good shot stopper but prone to a rush of blood occasionally. Better than Smudger? Personally I'm not at all convinced.Capricorn25 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2020 11:55 am Highlights

Not conclusive , but still believe their player was a yard offside for their equaliser ?
A tough match to watch but a hard earned three points.

I agree with your comment on the penalty Kevin; I'd have been sick if if had been given against us!KevinAnderson wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2020 4:51 pm

I hope you stay up, not least because I'm an Eastbourne resident (so it's my best away game of the season) and I've rather adopted Borough as my second team now!
I honestly do think though, that whilst Danny Bloor has exceeded expectations since becoming manager,;the teams' lack of ambition and negative mindset by focussing on not losing (i.e.drawing) before winning might well cost them dear in the relegation scrap. It was evident on Saturday that as soon as the equaliser went in, they were looking for the draw rather than pushing for the win.
Re: Darts v Eastbourne Feb 22
No way you can tell from the video whether Luer was offside for Boro’s goal. On Darts penalty, the referee was in a good position to see the shove on Macca and did the right thing by pausing to think before giving his decision. Spot on (pardon the pun!)
Credit to the match officials who, in my opinion, had a good game.

Given the stuttering performance I'd have taken anything that came our way for a win. As said need to get it together for Wealdstone Saturday
