In the current climate where the easy option is to sack the manager, I think that people should take notice of boards supporting their manager rather than react to the easy option of sacking the manager. Burnley FC are reaping the rewards of sticking by Sean Dyche when things weren't going as planned. DFC supporters I believe should take note
Well I would argue that the easy option is to avoid making a difficult decision and doing nothing but regardless of that. Sean Dyche has a lot of credit in the goodwill bank. He has won the Championship and twice won Burnley promotion to the Premier League where he guided them to their highest ever PL finish. They are a relatively small club punching above their weight in arguably the strongest league in the world and his achievements there have been outstanding.

I understand the point you're trying to make Arthur but I don't think your analogy holds up.

If they did have a signed contract (which i doubt) i can't believe it would have been a two year deal so whatever it was it surely had to be renewed for the upcoming season. It was quite clear the club never had any intention of replacing them this season so if they were contracted they could have just stated that and ended all the speculation ages ago.

If i am wrong Arthur and things work out OK next season all i'll do is get drunk and swear blind i never said any of this in the first place, it worked for someone else loads of times before.
Now who was that....... ;) ;)

Spike, where i am with this was as i said before. Alex Ferguson was 1 game away from being sacked and looked what happened there. I do understand people's views but mine simply is that it was a tough Division and if anyone thought that anybody coming in would do a lot better is wrong. I understand your concerns about where we are now to this time last year but i do believe that with support these lads can drive us on. Some people need to give them a bit more support rather than continually look to criticise

Alex Ferguson was never one game away from being sacked. That was a myth started by newspapers. He had completely transformed the whole club from the youth teams to the top. Everything behind the scenes was going well. The only thing missing was the first team's results, which came later, of course.

Barry Bell is going to be asked to be the club mascot on Match days next season. It's a full size Dartford Warbler. He Will do a good job

I heard 4 weeks notice - but maybe a two year deal why not? If I was an incoming manager I would argue for two years at least and if the board had the safeguard of being able to give notice, then why not? All a bit academic really cos we are where we are.

Well next season will be interesting if it mirrors this one and with the two clowns in charge relegation is a real threat as our last eight games showed hope i,m wrong but all I can see is another poor season and as a supporter of over 60years who has seen many ups and downs this could be back to the Biddle days.
