Without doubt the communication to the fans from Steve King is a big plus and far exceeds anything [ or nothing in JC/AF tenure ] from Tony Burman but there is still this lack of information on players departing the Club and even occasions when players join the Club and time lapses before official notification
Fans have a genuine interest in this area and doesnt take much to keep them in the picture !!!
Spot on Duke.
The communication from the club website to it's fans about football related matters is generally very poor. The club is very quick to announce on the news sections of the website when someone has sponsored some part of the kit or a match which is fine but in the main we the supporters are much more interested in what's happening with the team and its players than the commercial side of things. You also never see any information about such things as forthcoming youth team or women's matches on the club website. Perhaps whoever deals with the club website should have a look at the websites of other clubs at our level to get an idea of the content that they provide to their supporters. I think that they may find it to be a bit of an eye opener in comparison to ours.

Up until last weekend I had no idea which league the youth team were playing in. I couldn't find any information on the club website.
Thanks to the Non-League Paper's excellent match report on Darts 2-1 victory away to Bromley under 19's, I now know we are competing in Academy South D.
I have no idea who maintains the website but I can say that the Twitter pages are a very good source of information about the first team, the ladies team and the three Academy sides. Anybody can read the articles posted there whether on not they have signed up to Twitter.
Wasn't Lewis Smith the lad who was going to sign and then cleared off to Australia for a few months? He also got mixed up in some betting scandal before coming home. not so much him but other players that he was involved with.

That's very true LE, the social media media pages (Twitter, Facebook & Instagram) are updated with news and information far more often than the club's official website is (although there is still no mention of the departure of Michael Fernandes on any of them!). Personally I think that the website should, first and foremost, be the main source for club news and information. It was mentioned a few weeks ago, possibly by Park Life, that far fewer people use social media than the club assumes. Pretty much everyone is able to access the club website and people shouldn't have to trawl around social media sites, whether they are subscribed or not, looking for news and information. If the club releases news or information on social media sites it can't be too difficult to copy it the website.
So that's twice in less than a week we find out from outside sources that a player is no longer with the club. The club obviously feels that things like this are of no interest to it's supporters but getting a new tracksuit sponsorship is.

To be fair, the departure of Kairo Mitchell was both mentioned and explained during the interview with the manager yesterday.
True, but if the interview with SK hadn't taken place would we have heard about it from the club?
