So why couldn't our board have done something similar with JC and AF? For fear of ruffling egos?

I'm going to be a C now. Forget all this fanny talking and guessing amongst us mere mortals. These two lads are DFC (said it and you know that) the budget is crazy they cannot compete. That it what is happening with our beloved Dartford. I want to ASK so much more. But this is not the platform. But where is the platform. Buy a share and pose a question get an answer goodnight to all. What is going on deep down. All the academies all the monies. It's a question not a criticism. But one point I would like to say before all the managers out there is its not the management duo to criticise. We have to compete and as Kentc said I'm a paying customer and from my angle I believe that the monies available for the playing wages should be just as high as some of our competitors. Why is it not. It's a huge club. Why is not. Loyalty or progression.

Well, that was certainly a surprise from Arthur !
From advocate of the Hgher Purpose , to disregard of the Shareholders process in gaining Company information on available finances. Arthur, you definately sucked in your critics, before lifting their favourite banner to take charge of the cause! A famous coup !!

Not a criticism in any way. It is a Forum. :D

We wondered pre-season what this season held for us. It certainly hasn't disappointed (apart from the football). It is certainly colourful, and provided huge entertainment on here also. Long may it continue.
Hopefully signs of improvement are showing through the cracks. Let's hope so. I am looking forward to Saturday in a strange way. I just hope I'm not trekking to the car afterwards wondering again what I had just witnessed.

Arthur, unless I have misunderstood, there appear to be only two ways in which the above can be interpreted. It sounds as if you are suggesting that either the club is making plenty of money but depriving the managers of the funds they need or, more worryingly, that there is money coming in that is disappearing somewhere. The first option is easily discredited just by looking at the balance sheet and the second option would appear to be a very serious accusation. Can you clarify please.

Please just tell me I've just got the wrong end of the stick.

Arthur’s post was brought to the forum in association with Hürlimann (probably).

In reply to Spike.
Seriously if you think that I did really believe that money was disappearing somewhere as you put it that I would post that on a forum then i find that incredible.for you to suggest unless of course their is another underlying reason.
I for one have personally face to face thanked board members for their efforts and they will tell you that if you speak to them. I do not and will not and have not ever suggested anyrhing inappropriate. The rise of this football club is down to their actions along with the support of the council and i cannot thank them enough.
Please do not think this is any firm of apology as i am simply writing to put the record straight.
I do think however that we need to do more to move on from being a yoyo club as TB once put it. And have questions as to certain financial restraints that i feel have held us back and think that could move us on. I can assure you that many times certain board members have never once questioned my asking them questions and quite simply its been wonderful that to even be able to speak outwardly face to face to them and that is most welcoming. Something that I believe can never happen at many other clubs.
This brings me on to a point about any forums. People hide behind nom de plumes, people can create mischief by maybe misconstruing comments (let's put it like that) but i for one believe that it should be possible to do more financially to give the likes of Jamie and Adam more help against an ever increasing lopsided financial fair play league. And yet the simple answer which people seem to do is criticise them I've Said it before and i will say it again some have hinted and have said change the managers make it 1 manager etc. Etc Go and speak to them both. They are quite simply the most refreshing Dartford lads you can meet. Who work hard doing their own work and miss out on their families life to put it in for DFC. The point I was trying to make is DFC should be doing more behind the scenes to get us up where we should be. You can ask what. I have thoughts too long winded to put on here but that raises the point I initially brought up regarding where monies could be better spent in my opinion. I never understood why people put that or IMO after all we all know its a forum. If you need any further clarication as to my point Spike feel free to ask.

Hey Arthur, you seem a lovely old gentleman but l remember your penalty taking back in the day!

We can talk about player budgets all day & night on here but I guess that there is probably about 4-5 teams at best in the division who have a higher spend than us, we can't use this as an excuse for poor player recruitment and release of two very good players of our squad. You could argue that they are new and not had much time to build a decent squad but again even this theory is flawed because Welling, Woking, Hampton, Bath have got new management and have hit the ground running. Then of course there are new additions to the division such as Slough, Torquay & Billericay and they are not doing too bad either, although we half expect Ricay to be up there.

You are correct in your judgement on our board member, who always put the club's best interests at the top of their list's, they are also approachable and decent folk. However, the way we are set up as a club will never allow for a big investor to come on board, personally, I am happy with this as we know that we have a very stable club that will probably always be very good for this level and very poor for the next level up. To bridge that gap needs something that little bit special and that is why I was underwhelmed when I heard that we have taken on two old boys. Surely, it would have been a far safer bet to ask Skip Sawyer to take over from TB if our board members wanted some sort on continuity. My personal choice would have been someone who had no association with the club.

Anyway, despite all the up's and down's of the season to date we are still in the mix of things and both manager's deserve a fair chance to make this happen. I really think that we are only a couple of players short of a half decent team again, one that could get into the play-offs at the season's end. Can't wait for Saturday but like everyone else, you don't know what to expect. As long as both manager's are operating from the same hymn sheet, keep Ronnie in the team and play players in their correct positions then we will have every chance of a result and edge our way to one of those playoff positions.
