Tougher next season than this last one, and the one after that will be even harder.

Leagues, tough - hard, they don't know they are born players today. When I was nowt but a lad we played a match in the morning at home then another away up north in evening, with a cup tie in the midlands on the way up. Then when we got back it was down to the Kent Coal fields for a 20 hour shift at the coal face, . None of this fancy 'squad rotation' lark, there was eleven of us and we played every game broken legs or not, just wrapped some brown paper round it and got on with it. All for £1 a week, it was tough and hard, but we were happy, though we were all knocked damn senseless through heading those old soaking wet leather balls and didn't know better. The good old days. I think the game lost something when the use of man traps y defenders was banned, that sorted the men from the boys.

They've never had it so good.
I used to work 8 days a week, 25 hours per day.
Those were the days.

A warm welcome to Jack Barham, looks a very promising addition.
I think there will be quite a few comings and goings in the next few weeks but SK undoubtedly knows what he's doing so very confident he will have assembled a very good squad come the start of the season.

Quietly confident we will be challenging at the top of the division but would rather keep our expectations low key initially and not put any unnecessary pressure on the management, players or club. We can then hopefully have another great run like last season and be in the mix when it matters.
No doubt Havant, Dorking, £bbsfl££t, Maidstone and maybe a few others will throw a few quid around but they can't all go up so it will be interesting to see how long they can sustain it. They way our club is run makes me optimistic we will be around for a long time and because we are as financially stable as any football club can be the recent terrible events may effect other clubs far more than us.
Really looking forward to this season as the football we played under SK was entertaining and successful, i believe there are exciting times ahead.
Season ticket well and truly in my pocket ready for action (whenever that may be).

I'm hearing worrying rumours here in Eastbourne that Elliot Romain may be on his way back to Borough for next season. Surely not?

I would be very surprised if Elliot ended up at Eastbourne.

I also believe his contract covers this season as well so if other clubs are interested they would presumably have to stump up the readies.

I hope you're right Steve. Just with Jack's arrival and Charlie's resurgence in the play-offs, I was worried that the suggestion of a striker's departure might fit. Let's hope it's just another unfounded rumour then.

We’ve lost both Liam Nash up front and Billy from midfield so possibly Jack could be a replacement for both players and play up front or midfield.

Most of his listings say he’s a centre forward / striker but Dorking list him as a midfielder.
