Even following the match on Twitter it was obvious that it was very different from recent performances. We seemed to be struggling to get out forwards into the game and to make use of our pace.

Ryan is not exactly getting a lot of match practice by the time he has served his suspension.
It will also be interesting to see how long Sanchez Ming's suspension will be- he appears to have served a six-match ban in September, 2019!

Only the third game I’ve managed to make this season. Thought we were the better team in the opening 30 minutes: pressing and passing well. We just got caught on the ball in midfield a few times, one time which led to their goal (which, yes, was a fumble from Sesay but by no means a simple save given how much it was swerving mid-air!)
Never looked at our best after the goal, and maybe could have done more with the half-chances we had, but I agree that we struggled to provide them to the guys up front.
Altogether not a terrible performance but just didn’t go our way. Let’s bounce back next week!

Didn’t quite click for us, today, but I honestly feel Slough are very good at what they do!
Got their noses in front, then broke up play at every opportunity.
Good teams do that!
We go again

Felt disappointed a little today but that's simply on the progress we have made in such a short time. I do think we had a fair few who had a quietish game. Not a dig, that's football. But how good is it they we feel a little despondent after 15 out of 18 points and losing 1 nil today against a team (I think) fourth in the league. And lets be honest as organised as they were and as good as they are, they didnt exactly piss all over us. Personally I thought we tended to fizz the ball to others too much, rather than our fluent passing game. As for the fast overlapping play on both sides, we have been seeing well today it really didnt happen. But to all out there remember we have the best guy out there as OUR manager. Hey what the shite am I talking about we have just lost 1 match. COYD and up the darts either meet as per my DM or simply just follow your real team.

So, as for the match, we never really got going today and struggled to get a grip with a decent Slough side. It's a very narrow 4G pitch which made it difficult to get any width, plus the surface was very fast and we kept over-hitting our passes and losing possession. It was disappointing of course, but this was always going to be a tough one and we are still a work in progress so I'm not too despondent. We've had such a good run recently that it would be easy to get a bit carried away so maybe we needed this reality check.
Spike as you mention back to the game. It's no reality check for me. We may be 7th and after just 12 or so games under Steve King we find ourselves competing against sides at the top of the league who have been cementing thier position over the last 2 or 3 years possibly. Steve king is just 3 months in. I know you understand this yourself so enough of that, but to all, this is the start. I defended flans and Coylie to the hilt and deservedly so. Such was the words used personally against them. Some may say here he goes again, DFC manager lover Reg, but as I think Steve King has said " we pick ourselves up and we go again next week"
Once again I still cant wait a week for some more DFC. COYD

Slough proved yesterday the importance of a speculative shot - it wasn’t a straightforward save for Sesay, but their man is unlikely to have an easier finish as the ball was pushed straight out to his feet with the ‘keeper poleaxed. All in all, the home side were worth the win as they shut us down early for the majority of the game and made us look ordinary for the first time in a month (since Concord). Be interesting to see how King responds.

A big shame we couldn't score after doing so frequently but after our run we were narrowly beaten. I listened to the commentary which was good, but as others have said, we go again and another fine run please.
