I assume any critics already getting on S. K.'s back are long time football fans and must surely know early results in a new manager's reign will not always be an indication of future success/failure. Many great starts have ended up in disaster and many poor starts have ended very well indeed, lets just wait and see before going over the top either way. Besides any new blood some of the current squad may flourish under the new set up after adapting to the new ways. It doesn't help with Lee's injury and also Charlie was looking like the player we knew before his shouler injury.

Not long ago the prevailing view seemed to be that we had a good squad at the start of the season that poor management wasn't getting the best out of. Now we have good management and the squad is poor. I accept that we have injuries but we've had that all season - so which is it?

Fair point that Mick. The injuries to key players hasn't helped, but in my opinion one of the major problems has been the spirit in the camp hasn't been right and certain players have under-performed. Little cliques formed under the Flanners & Coyley regime and this further destabilised an already struggling team. Those two weren't strong enough to get on top of that situation and allowed it to fester, which in turn contributed to their demise. I doubt SK will stand for any such nonsense but he needs time to figure out which players are good enough and, even more importantly, whether they are actually committed to being here under his leadership. Some of my all-time favourite players are in this squad and I would love them to stay and fight for their places, but the club comes first so if they're not fully on-board with where we're going then the sooner they are replaced the better.
