It will be interesting to see if we play better without him for the 3 games. Yes, he is a little dynamo and possibly our best player season to date but he tends to get caught out of position quite and bit as well as losing possession in key areas of the park. At least it will give Bradders or someone else an opportunity to shine.
As for my original point, it just goes to show how far we have fallen under this management team, especially when JC said “we are going to be playing a better brand of football”, which I interpreted as a thinly veiled dig at TB.
Anyway, I will be there for New Year's Day and despite all our recent poor performances and still hopeful to get something out of the game as I don't think Welling are any better than us, apart from their management team.
It’s right we were better when Noble got sent off but don’t misinterpret.
We were better because the team possibly felt an injustice so they gave every ounce they had and battled bloody hard. I think it’s more of a reaction.
The reason why Lees out of position as some think is because he’s all over the place and quite often has to cover extra ground depending on who he’s playing with along side him.
He loses possession some times because there is no one on the pitch who more constantly wants the ball in tight areas and plays on the deck with it whereas others smack it long like a hot potato.
Others don’t lose the ball because not as many demand the ball and many just bang it long so they don’t lose it.
Lee Noble is brave on the ball, always steps up into games and never goes missing.
Interesting your comments on better brand of football as I thought it’s changed from trying to play on the deck to now a lot of long ball.

Lee Noble is our best player by an absolute country mile. He is MOTM almost every week and is a near certainty for player of the season. Kentc is right, the improvement from the others was just a reaction to the sending off. In a way, that just makes it all the more annoying. Maybe we should do something to p*** them all off just before kick off.

First half we were given the”Mike Reid” and struggled. After the sending off (from the worst official I’ve seen in a long while)we really raised it and put in a great second half effort which received deserved applause from the the darts faithfull at the end.Ithought there centre forward had a great game and caused no end of problems.Onto another tough week,Coyds

I had a good view of the Noble incident & didn't think he led with his elbow at all?
He jumped into their player yes which was foolish, but the foul was a yellow at worst. ET's over the top reaction got him sent off, but that's football at the moment i suppose?.
Spike; on this occasion i think we can lay some blame at the Ref, he seemed to make erratic decisions all afternoon, he dismissed three, booked numerous others & it wasn't really a nasty game!!
I think he could have allowed a little leeway due to the horrendous state of the pitch, we may have been better playing it on the caravan site next door??

To be fair I said arm not elbow, I don't think it was intentionally malicious but it was a bit reckless and obviously a foul. There were three of us standing together of which two of us (myself included) thought it was a yellow card and one who called it as red before the ref did, but that wasn't really my point. I just think it's more productive to focus on things we can actually fix rather than getting sidetracked by referees. You can argue about referees all day long and it won't change anything. I don't deny that the ref was very poor but we lost our way before he did and I think our time would be better spent addressing our own mistakes and working out why it took perceived injustice to bring out the best in us.

The Ref gestured it was an elbow!! I take on board what you say Spike but we could be here a month of Sundays addressing our current plight, and it's midnight in 13 x hours!!
We can't let these Men in Black get off scott free after an abysmal display like that though!!

At the time i wasn't 100% sure what happened but said don't be surprised at what card he produces as he was having a bit of an "i'm in charge spell". I didn't like the ET players reaction either and this seems to be creeping back into the game far too much for my liking, Welling were also culprits.
Looking back at the replay it looks more hand/wrist to me but Lee isn't really looking at the ball but imo yellow card would have been right. The problem we have is whatever the ref said he can also look at the video before submitting his report, i've always felt that when you are at the level where the games are recorded the officials should submit there reports before any video is released.
As for the game we played well for the first 10 minutes but then slipped away for the rest of the first half. We dug in second half and showed some real fighting spirit which has been lacking from some this season. At the end a fair result but had we put in a decent performance felt it was a game we should be winning. Team selection will be very interesting against Welling as we have a tendency to drop players after one poor performance
MOTM for me Tom Bonner, imo his last two performances have been very good.

In the current climate it was a red card, our players would have done the same if it had been one of ours "lying" pole axed on the ground. I was hoping for a yellow at the time, either way it's done and gone. Noble will be a big miss as he serves his suspension.
Hopefully we can give Welling a game and with 11 on the pitch show the spirit on display in the second half, if so we might get something out of the game.
