A 12 point deduction this season wouldn't have made much sense if there's not going to be any relegation this season, would it? A 12 point deduction next season (assuming the season operates normally) would greatly increase the chances of a Douvres relegation, no?

Ridiculous decision, according to JP operating costs were circa 120 - 125 k per month to play on.
The panel have decided that 40k not to play (2 or 3 weeks costs) and a 12 point deduction is sufficient.

I am sure clubs such as Wealdstone or Weymouth who are still operating one would assume on similar costs would have rather stopped playing and saved the budget for next season.

Furthermore the suspended fines for clubs such as Dulwich were approx 2k per match, they have been charged with four suspended fines totalling 8k.

Dover have effectively missed 29 games and been fined 40k, which should actually be 58k - if the same rules are applied for each club.

From a completely different angle if Dover genuinely have no money, what is the point in fining them at all, they won't or can't pay the £40k fine.

How the league can justify these decisions is utterly bizarre.

£40k Dover will have saved in not fulfilling maybe a dozen fixtures, not the 29 they will have swerved by shutting up shop when they did. Of course, JP and his brigade will no doubt protest that doing so has saved their club, however everyone else has plodded on. My heart bleeds that King’s Lynn didn’t help the cause by abstaining themselves.

Only time (13 months) will tell whether justice is served with relegation next season, I personally think that Dover have no right to a place in the National League set-up for 2021/22 and should they defy the odds and stay up, it will be a travesty. Yes, it’s been a difficult year, putting it lightly, but all clubs have been affected in more or less the same way, therefore Dover have no divine right for a parachute.

Should have just demoted them, then all 3 x divisions would have 22 x teams instead of the current 23,22 & 21 !!
But as I’ve stated before, the trouble with common sense is.....it isn’t very common!!

Agreed and i hope that all teams in our league that refused to play on get a fine and a points deduction for next season.
If the likes of Tonbridge and Maidstone don't like it they can always go back and play in the Kent League or whatever it's called nowadays.

I have to agree with M1. I think that Dover have got off lightly.
Whereas, most clubs were thinking of survival, JP had a cunning plan of staying where they are and National League survival. The thing is the National League have swallowed it.

Dartford FC (and others) were bounced completely from any football because of their inability to complete fixtures, so why are clubs in that position now not re-starting at the bottom of the pyramid? Yes I know there have been unprecedented circumstances but the French could at least have put out their youngsters to complete the season? All clubs now have a vote of no confidence in the National League board - well that will get absolutely nowhere.

Actually cost Dfc more than £40k to fulfil our commitments, then the league say no more football.
Dover unilaterally decide no more football for them and end up being better off than us.
