I have got to agree 100% with Spike. Torquay aside (and perhaps even including them) I have not really been impressed by any team or much football at all this season. I suspect Woking and Torquay will fight it out come the end of the season but we lost on Boxing Day to a mediocre side and that is the painful bit (that and of course it is Welling).
As Spike says, there is absolutely no shape to the side and I really felt sorry for Nobes carrying the side on his shoulders. I am sorry but Philpott doesn't do it for me though I cannot fault him for endeavour. We find it hard to string many passes together for much of the game but when we do there is absolutely no end product. We need a new coach (no I am not saying replacing the two we have) we need someone who can teach someone in the side to score!
I do remain hopeful, but finding it difficult right now. I will still be saying COYDs.

Yes Torquay and Woking seem to be the best two teams in this League. I wasn't that impressed by Welling because we were so poor, but they have got a clever manager who will get them into the play-offs comfortably. Danny Mills still needs 3 good chances to score one goal but he did seem to enjoy his goal against us perhaps he read this forum when he played for us and knows none of us really rated him. Of the other teams Bill & Ricky without Tamplins money are going down the pan and Chelmsford are like us up and down. It is still a close League if we could only find someone to put the ball in the bloody net we will make the play-offs.

Personally I think we need some consistency in team selection and some consistency within the squad. I don't see how any manager or coach can implement a playing style or develop patterns of play with an ever changing group of players.
I understand JC tutors aspiring coaches on FA run courses, I just don't see evidence of this watching DFC, we don't seem to have any real organisation other than in game.
We don't seem to have set piece routines, or a way to play. However if we can settle on a basic core of players to start the next 8 - 10 games, with players to get some time to develop partnerships we may see more consistent performances and more consistent results.

Sorry Tommy, but I think you will find that some of us did rate Danny Mills.
Yes I agree, he may not be a prolific goal scorer, but what he did give for us is 100% determination every game, something that a few in this current squad are not doing this season?

Well said Spike, I have to agree, I cannot seem to 'engage with this side at all' this season. I can't believe how I can 'take it or leave it' when coming up for a game, and this being my 50th year as a supporter. I thought it was going to be 'an interesting season' but I can't muster up any interest at the moment.
I can't say that I have seen us play well all the seven games I've seen this season, and I've been really trying.
There are more issue's as regards my 'interest' this season apart from football, and I will be there on Tuesday against Welling. But as I say I can take it or leave it.
We are a middle of the division team. It's no good relying on a resurgent Hayes or Bradbrook, but the quality in the side is not great, I was going to say Poor but that would be harsh. I am surprised however at how high UP the table we are. A few defeats however would have us in the bottom half very quickly. Getting Ryan back was not welcomed by myself as it was by a few on here and to expect past performances from Elliot was asking a bit. Fortunately we are getting some exceptional games from Lee and Ronnie and lesser one's from Mark O and Tom. But I do think the injury to Andy was a cruel one and the forward line has not recovered from it.
Onward's and upwards as we all say. Let's hope for a result tomorrow and Tuesday. Any sort of point will do.

The first half was not the worst Dartford performance I have seen but it was close. To perform like that in a boxing day derby match is borderline shameful. Even if we lack the skill of the opposition, which we seem to, we should at least be able to show passion.
Some individuals just don't seem close to being good enough.
Even though I have missed only 1 home match this season I struggle to keep up with who is in the team, who is in the squad, who is in on loan, out on loan, or just someone who turned up and had a kit.
Wynter was taken off at half time and I was amazed he stayed on that long. Playing 1 up front is always going to be tough and if you are going to do that you need players who are going to bust a gut to get up there to support him. I did not see many players busting a gut to do anything yesterday.
On a slightly more positive note I thought 3 of our back four looked pretty good and our right back (is it Johnson?) looked very composed. I would have voted him MOTM to make a change from my weekly vote for Noble but I wasn't that sure I had the right player. I note the players and squad numbers on the official Dartford FC site is not accurate which seems a bit symbolic of the slightly shambolic season we are having.

How many "strikers" have we signed this campaign?
Philpot, kudus,Charlie,Delano, the New guy whose name escapes me
And possibly one other?
I'm sorry but none of these players have set the place alight
For me
They are not bad players but WHERE are the goals coming from?
4th lowest scorers in the division,I rest my case

I don't think the problem lies just with the strikers, we are not creating many chances either so also need to look at the players behind them.

When we were making our way up the league, my memory seems to recall that a lot of our goals were coming from positions all over the pitch, especially from central defenders and midfielders. That doesn't seem to be the case nowadays.
