Yes Barry, you were right. But it was coming, even us peasants in the crowd could see it.
First off I thought the first half was the best 45 minutes seen at PP for such a long time and I think we would have snatched it had we not let Slough in with a goal before half time.
We were three player short in Noble, Allen and Wynter which was unlucky for us. Having said that I thought Slough were the best team seen at PP this season. They were direct, fast in their passing and also in breaking away. The manager obviously did his homework in the first 45 minutes as they came out second half and did a job. They obviously felt that Flisher was our weak point and it won't take a lot of managers long to figure that one out. No offence to Alex, it's not his position.
A fair performance against a good team considering our side. For what it's worth if we had an Onyemah or dare I say a Warner-Eley at the back it would make a huge difference. But it is what it is, Tony only has the players left him and to be honest 3 or 4 of them we could do without.
Brodie showed some nice touches and is definately one for the future, but he did show some naivety also.
I said before the game I had hoped Slough was not going to be the team of last season where they pummeled the ball all over the park. Well, they certainly got quite a good side there. Hate to say it, I enjoyed watching them, unfortunately.
Blackfield and Langley will be no push-over either.

1, Did Park and Spike make the game?
2, Did Norman Wabo have a clue?

Yes, Park Life and myself did make the game and arrived just before kick-off.

A neutral would have described that as a great game of football because it really was end to end stuff. Early on, Darts looked great and a win looked on the cards, especially when we went 2-0 up, but in the end it all came down to sloppy goals resulting from 3 individual errors by Howard, Brodie and Wabo. Howard otherwise played well and Brodie might even have been a contender for MOTM but for that error, but he's an excellent prospect and he'll learn from that. Some credit has to be given to Slough, I thought they were a decent side and the game was as entertaining as it was heart-breaking. I do agree with the poster who said you can see the green shoots of recovery, but we completely ran out of steam in the second half and we do certainly need to tighten up at the back. Luke Wanadio was the standout performer for me and gets my MOTM vote. Even in defeat it was better than what we were seeing earlier in the season. Disappointed but not downhearted.

Just seen the highlights and thought that Mark Smith didn't even react for the third. May have had a blinder at Horsham and a fairly good save earlier in this game, but sometimes looks a bit lumbersome. Only my opinion of course.

In the first half I wondered where we were going to get a goal from, then suddenly we are 2 up. Unfortunately that was it, and Slough showed far more determination, willingness to tackle and win the ball, and desire to win the game, and we played too much hoof ball. We are crying out for a decent left back, and still no creativeness from mid field.

Not according to the programme, one is the Manger the other is the assistant Manager. I know as I vented my displeasure to him at the end of the game telling him what a knob his keeper is!

My copy of the programme says they have been joint managers since 2013 complete with a picture of the duo and they are both included in the line ups on the back page . It amused me seeing how well they have done, not being a fan of this sort of set up I am of the mind they are the exceptions to prove the rule. I enjoyed the match as a watch, shame about the result.
