It's amazing how many times over the last ten years Dartford have had a good result against one of the top sides only to follow it by a disappointing result against a team that, on paper, we ought to beat. Having said that, none on the top seven won today, with two others losing and four drawing.

That's Life move On

What a poor loss! A game we expected to win. I can't really pick the bones out of the performance as the match was so bloody scrappy from start to finish. An awful advert for the National South. What I can sumise is that Crook had a great game in the midfield engine, but McQueen (who has shown such early promise) unfortunately was far too quiet on this occasion.

They have an interesting set up at Dulwich. An over subscribed, knackered facility with real ale tents on all four corners of the ground, naan bread stalls, loads of foreign fans, hipsters, pissheads, students, left wing buggers, loads of babes in arms and dog walkers. All every different from our beloved Princes Park.

We are undoubtedly a bigger club than Hamlet so it's a shame we can't attract their level of support, and reach a wider demographic like they can. Or maybe Dartford is just a very different area?

Unfortunately Matt has hit the nail on the head. Dartford is a very different town to the one I used to know. A once thriving market town is now a soulless place. A bland commuter belt replacing some of industry's biggest players, over populated without the infrastructure we need to cope with the influx.
Thank God we still have the football club.

this has to be one of the strangest game i have been to,i felt as though i had been pushed into a festival for students with beer everywhere and a strong smell of weed with only about 500 of their fans watching the game not bad seeing the crowd was 2700.
as for the game a non event by us with only one shot on target and being muscled out of every tackle.
i am sitting at home still wondering what today was all about

A real bad day at the office today really sums the match up .Nothing seemed to come off and we were so narrow, I have seen anorexics with more width !!!
It was my first visit to Dulwich and it’s strange to say the least , it was a cross between Welling’s ground and Cruffs

Without doubt, the weirdest football crowd I have ever experienced. Phenomenal attendance of nearly 2800 people and at first glance it's a decent ground, although there's not enough terraces so unless you're standing up against the barrier you need to be tall enough to see over those that are. This didn't seem to worry the locals though, probably because many of them weren't even facing the pitch, let alone watching the game. It was like some sort of hippy fest / beer festival barbecue and the football was just something that was going on in the background. Hey, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that, and I think most clubs at our level would envy those numbers, but it was just all so very weird.

For those of us who were interested enough to watch the match, I don't think anyone could deny it was a bad day at the office for the Darts. Ryno's absence (due to sickness I believe) meant that Nobes was pushed out wide and Crook slotted into the centre. In fairness, I think we started with the best 11 players that we had available but unfortunately, those few changes didn't work on this occasion and we looked unbalanced for much of the afternoon. Lee Noble has been nothing short of amazing this season and we certainly missed his drive in the centre of the park. Unfortunately though, when playing wide he has a tendency to drift back inside which left us without an out ball on the right and gave far too much freedom to their number 3 who kept getting down our right flank. In hindsight, maybe we could have played Crook, Nobes and Bradders across the centre and McQueen out wide in a 4-5-1 but to be fair, I thought the way we lined up would have been more effective than it was and it's easy to be wise after the event. In the end, Dulwich were the better team on the day and deserved their win. Their first goal was an absolutely superb finish that you'd have thought, 99 times out of 100, would have ended up in the car park. I'd like to think today was just a blip as we have definitely made huge strides recently and I'm pretty confident we'll bounce back from this.

Weird day. We move on.
