Good sentiments mad mod but we all surely know we are not Real Madrid.
None of the alleged candidates are beyond our means is my guess so we need to get the best candidate we can

Is the process cloaked in secrecy or does anyone know who's on the short list?

It has to be said, that we are a mouth watering proposition, great facilities and a set up geared for nurturing young talent. There's so much to look forward to. One of the factors is to get the fans back, to generate that extra revenue with the increased budget it would bring.

Time to get the club back in the news again in a big positive way.

Some of the names touted would get the juices flowing, if we settle for second best it will not.....

Obviously it has become difficult to chose the next manager. If there are a couple of candidates neck and neck, why not appoint a joint management team. Cannot think of any good reason why not.
I know in TV talent/reality shows a long pause before announcing the winner is supposed to add to the tension, think we are rather overdoing it here.
If not decided by Saturday week bring the applicants on to the pitch pre kick-off, the loudest round of applause gets the job. Bring the Clapometer out of retirement and take the scientific approach to the situation.

Well Llamaman, if it has to be settled by a bollock kicking contest, I would put my money on Jay Saunders. Personally, I would like to see Bobby Wilkinson in charge now, especially as he likes to develop the academy players. All this negative talk about SK has put me right off the fella.

Whoever it is I hope he starts getting results early as he will get a right shellacking on here if he doesn't. Lets hope it won't take a season and a third to achieve absolutely bugger all like the last two clowns.

Like you Jonty, I've read a lot of stuff on here about Steve King, mostly positive, some negative, but either it's been wildly over the top enthusiasm or unsubstantiated rumours and assumptions about budgets and financial demands. I take all that stuff with a pinch of salt as the only FACTS most of us fans really know are the applicants track records at previous clubs. King really seems to generate very strong feelings from a lot of people but I don't really know why or where this is coming from. Personally I see King as the most exciting choice, simply because his record of winning football matches is the most impressive. However I acknowledge that Wilkinson, Saunders and Quinton all have some decent successes behind them and look a much better bet than the previous incumbents. A while back I thought Saunders was a done deal but I must admit, I'm not sure any more. I don't expect we'll have to wait much longer, but whatever the outcome, I'm glad the board have taken their time and not made a snap decision. Hopefully this means that it will prove to be a good one.
