As a quick addendum, my very best friend in my life told me tonight you will not see football of this quality in league 1. Its a fact he told me that. Right or wrong who knows its opinion. Buts he has been a scout for many many years and a supporter of a league club and it was his words tonight. And he swears by it. Dissapointed DartLion for any buts.
Sorry

The first half was phenomenally good, in fact, so good that Reg could write about it and not be exaggerating. It was a travesty that it was only 2-0 at half-time. But football always has a trick up its sleeve and Connor's freak stumble was like a stun gun that shut the game down for 30 minutes, during which time Eastbourne started to think that maybe, just maybe, they could pull off some sort of seemingly preposterous smash and grab. However, as has already been the case a few times this season, the injection of fresh legs from the bench ensured that the final score-line was a little bit closer to resembling the true gulf in class between the two sides. Oh how wonderful it is to have so many options for change, all of which are as good as the players they are replacing. I've been supporting the Darts since the 1960s and although we've had some amazing teams in that time, I don't ever recall having a squad with so much all round strength in depth. Some of the football we have been playing has been sublime, it's a thing of real beauty. You should never count your chickens of course, but you'd be crazy not to be optimistic about the potential of this squad. It's very exciting.

MOTM was a tough one but I opted for the excellent Jernade Meade who gave Eastbourne a torrid time all afternoon.

So, off to Bath we go ... can't wait.

Not on today's second half display Reggie Baby. Yes we were fantastic first half but didn't turn it on only in fits and starts second half. Your mate must have had a few stiff drinks in the bar with you at half time. Think the half time comments from Dart lion were tongue in cheek??? Go and have a lie down.

Agree with all of the posters comments on the match , I didnt think much of the Ref especially when he didnt send of their No10 after giving him every chance to shut up , it seemed as though the No10 was doing his level best to get sent of and the Ref should have obliged and would then have got the required respect from the remaining players , not upset just thought it was hilarious , what a tw#t !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I continue to like Jake Robinson who despite being a class striker is also a super team player and gave him my MOTM today

Easy to say when people get caught out. If tongue in cheek then dont bother. WTF do you guys want. Played 4 win 4 goals scored 30 plus goals conceded nil. If you dont think the last 4 performances have been anything but brilliant and entertaining them maybe staying at home and pulling your wire is for you. Madness. Forget about lying down, maybe go and stretch it behind closed doors

I'm not going to repeat what's been said already. We all know what we saw today and although it's still very early days the table doesn't lie already as far as first place is concerned.

What stands out the most for me today, apart from the obvious, was a passage of play during the first half involving a series of slick passes, including two smart dummies, which almost led to a goal. It was a move involving several players which wouldn't have looked out of place in the Championship. Even the Premier League.

When you see this kind of football, being played at this level, then you really have to be forgiven for daring to believe we could be looking at a one horse race here in the National League South season 2021/22.

dartLion wrote: Mon Aug 30, 2021 9:36 pm Coudn't attend today due to a family commitment but pleased to see another three points gained and Darts sitting pretty on top of the league. A big well done to team and management. Obviously can't comment on today's performance but if I am to have a concern on the season so far, it would be the half time whistle. From what I have seen and read, we have been totally dominant in the first half of every game, but don't continue with the same momentum on return to the pitch. Fortunately it seems we then come good again towards the 90 minutes. Why should this be? Perhaps there should be a change of refreshment or routine, or can we propose half time breaks be dispensed with?
Keep up the excellent work SK and team.
Reading that again and again and i just cannot believe it, i cannot.
You are certainly very gullible Reginald if you think my suggestion that half time breaks be dispensed with is likely to bring about a revolution in the rules of the game? No worries, I will keep my thoughts to myself in future and continue to accept your repetitive worshipping. Everythings fine and will continue to be I am sure.

No no no. You had a dig and have been found out and trying to get out of a hole. Repetitive worshipping yes your right there. And the worshipping is totally justifiable. Alien isnt it on this platform. Won the game in the second half at St Albans, totally dominated over 90 minutes v slough, no problem second half v Hamlet pressed on late again today. How much of the 360 minutes have you been too ? Get used to the worshipping because there will be plenty more worshipping to come. Plenty.
