... Although maybe, just maybe, we'll have a bit of better luck this coming Bank Holiday weekend: away to Hungerford (20th out of 22, 2 points, GD 3-14) and at home to East Thurrock (bottom, 0 points, GD 1-7).
... Although with our historic record against teams in the bottom half...

well Arthur, if you think we are playing well enough for this league at the moment then thats your opinion, but from where i was looking it was simply awful, and i make the point that IF we were to not improve then we may struugle to stay up. however we have plenty of time to improve and i sure hope we do, as i am sure we all do

Re: Wealdstone (H) - 18th August 18
That was an alarming performance, not because that we were outplayed in all departments but I felt that some of the new additions were out of their depth. My main concern about one of our pre-season signings was highlighted today and as we are not allowed to name players then I will just use one of our manager's quote's; I decided to bring in *?* *?* because I thought that this was an area we can improve on. Dare I say it but today this so called player made more errors than Danny H made over half a season and at least he gave us something going forward. Apart from Ben I don't have any confidence in the new signings and I would not be surprised if a few of them are not moved on PDQ. I know that it is early doors and normally I would like to see at least 8-10 games before making any conclusions on new players but a few of the new additions have been around the block a few times and it looks like their best days are behind them.
On the way home I could get the thought out of my head that when has joint managers been successful. Both will have different ideas and this coalition could work against us with muddled thinking and compromises between the two. Early doors I know but I wish we had been brave and gone with Hakan Hayrettin. I expect improvement over the course of the season and a top seven place as a minimum for a club with our resources.

I listened to Flan's post match interview on Radio Kent and he saw it the way that the fans did and his comments suggest that a few will soon be on their way out , I can stomach getting beat IF the players are giving 100% and its just a bad day at the office but most of them today [ and NOT just the new guys ] were just swanning around , hardly breaking sweat and that is just NOT acceptable !!!
For the 1st time ever I f.......d of home after 80 minutes , cause basically IF the team dont give a f ... WHY should I ???
I know its only 5 games in but form can improve but crap attitudes dont and that needs to be sorted P.D.Q !!!!!
MOTM - there wasnt one !!!!!

I have to agree with what most posters are writing..
We have a team that is not fit for purpose.
In my 60 years of watching DFC I have rarely seen such
a pathetic display .
We were up against a good side but the way we capitulated
was embarrising.
New faces needed because some of these players are simply not up to it
If we keep this squad I hope they prove me wrong otherwise we are in for a long hard season!!

Duke.. I also left with 10 to go but that could easily been at half time. After about 40 minutes a young fan in the seats told his dad "I want to go home". I seconded that sentiment and received a similar response from those in the vicinity.
I appreciate that we have to take the rough with the smooth but I have seen nothing but a lazy. effortless mish-mash from the majority of the players over a number of games this season. There is no cohesion, all lack pace and apart from a few, a willingness to put in some effort. To me it seems that a number of players are not playing with heart for the club, but for a wage. Apologies to those that are.
"Early Days" is not an acceptable excuse as other clubs have also had big changes since last season and by Bank Holiday Monday we will have played a sixth of our league fixtures. Soon the cup competitions kick in and on our present performances, then these will not generate any of the much needed revenue the club needs. Similarly, performances like that witnessed today will only detract people from attending matches as they can get better entertainment spending their hard-earned income elsewhere.
I seriously hope that things turn around soon, but I do not know where this might come from.

5 games in. I can feel all the knockers sharpening their knives. It's nonsense. We are living within the club's means. Although i do have some questions. Wealdstone were good but if anyone thinks the likes of Bradley Bubb are playing for them for the amounts we can afford then think again. It's a crazy. JC and AF are brilliant. Not one of the people saying anything Now said a word after Chelmsf ord. Get behind the boys. We have two games coming up which are winnable for us. I agree its not been good on the eye but rather than talk/gossip amongst ourselves on this platform talk to them. They are so committed and want this as much as us. Believe that or shut up. We are all one. So let's get behind them starting now.

As an addendum to my last post. The players are dissapointed as us all.
