Hi all, Just for accuracy and clarification, it's not a Council meeting but an independent Safety Advisory Group ( SAG ) . SAG's can comprise a whole range of relevant parties including Public Health, emergency services and other relevant parties. Council's ARE responsible for convening SAGs and a meeting may include Local Authority representatives ( typically community safety and Environmental Health officers ) but they are independent and not a Council committee. They are not statutory bodies and don't usually have the power to approve or prohibit an event taking place. I say 'usually' because in this case the National League have made clear in their statement that the pilot fixtures are "subject to local safety advisory group approval." . Following the National League's announcement on Friday, the Council was asked to convene a SAG and it has ( as I think has been mentioned elsewhere) been scheduled for Monday morning. Just for the record, SAG meetings are attended by the relevant and appropriate professional officers .... councillors aren't involved!!!
