As asked, why are season ticket holders getting preference? Not that I'm quoting you Gary.

Maybe because they have paid up front for all 20 home game seems fair to be given preference. All games are will probably be all ticket no cash sales on the day.Ozymandias wrote: ↑Sat Aug 29, 2020 12:40 pm As asked, why are season ticket holders getting preference? Not that I'm quoting you Gary.

Season Ticket holders get preference because they’ve already paid their admission up front, they’ve paid for all 20 or so home league games whether they can make them or not.Ozymandias wrote: ↑Sat Aug 29, 2020 12:40 pm As asked, why are season ticket holders getting preference? How can the club turn them away or allow someone else in ahead of them when the admission has been paid a good while before the games.

Re: Season Tickets 20/21
The only reason I ask is that there are kids out there in low paid jobs that probably go to all twenty home games but cannot afford a season ticket up front. They budget every week/fortnight and go and see all home games to support the club. When I was a kid I made sure I had my 6d for every home game but I couldn't afford a season ticket. But I went to every home game.
So, what are you saying? Put every season ticket holder into a draw even though some won't turn up for the game?
I realise that the club need money. But why rely on people who maybe can't turn up? When there are people standing outside hoping that they can get in only to walk home with social distanced spaces empty.
But that's okay, it's been paid for.

Re: Season Tickets 20/21
I can understand if some think it seems unfair, but sadly life is often unfair. If anyone pays in advance, they would normally expect priority in a queue over those who haven't.
I'm fortunate to be able to afford a season ticket, although I will not be able to attend more than about half the home matches, as I live 50 miles away (even assuming supporters will be allowed in). However, it's a small price to pay, and a modest gesture to help support the Club I've followed home and away as much as possible, since watching us lose 8-2 at Bristol City, via the special train in 1961 with my Dad and brother.
If season ticket holders are offered priority, I will ensure the Club know if I cannot attend, so that others could be let in, and I'm sure most others will do likewise.
Let's all hope it doesn't come to that, and that experiments like Brighton's friendly today, will encourage the authorities to allow spectators in by October, and if it's to be 30% of capacity as proposed for lower leagues, that shouldn't really be a problem with our recent average gates.

If 30% is the crowd limit that's about 1200 with over 200 season tickets sold so far, still plenty of tickets available and games will be all ticket only.Ozymandias wrote: ↑Sat Aug 29, 2020 4:06 pm The only reason I ask is that there are kids out there in low paid jobs that probably go to all twenty home games but cannot afford a season ticket up front. Re: Season Tickets 20/21
If our attendances are capped at say, 1000, I would imagine that ST holders only will be granted admission until somewhere around 14:15, after which time anyone can come in until we reach full capacity. That way, a small priority is granted to those who have paid in advance but anyone fully committed to watching the game has the opportunity to attend almost entirely in their own hands. It could lead to very long queues but unfortunately, this is indirectly what the masses called for in this ridiculous episode of our lives. Ticket-only could lead to some very low gates IMO.

Do we really want several hundred ST holders hanging around for three quarters of an hour inside the ground before a match. Remember there's a pandemic going round.DA Mikey wrote: ↑Sat Aug 29, 2020 4:41 pm If our attendances are capped at say, 1000, I would imagine that ST holders only will be granted admission until somewhere around 14:15, after which time anyone can come in until we reach full capacity. Why not have season ticket holders entering the ground at one end and the non ST holders (up to the official limit) at the other end. I presume there wont be any visiting supporters turning up. Gates should open at say 2.30pm or 7.15pm for evening games for everyone to keep the time inside the ground to a minimum.
