This isn't really a surprise is it? As SK has been hanging around PP like the elusive Kurt Barlow was in Marsten House. (Read Salem's Lot) Spooky.
Although admittedly it wasn't upside down from the rafters.

Had they not selected the obviously best candidate, they would have laid themselves open to criticism and put added pressure on whoever they had appointed in his stead. There are no guarantees of course, but I see this as a bold decision and a statement of intent by our board. Steve King has been made aware of the budget and accepted the job on those terms. I believe those who fear that King will lead us astray financially are worrying unnecessarily because our board are too savvy to allow this to happen. Our club has already been resurrected from extinction once, and us older fans know that sensible budgeting and safeguarding the future is ALWAYS our number one priority. If the new manager comes back in a few months, demanding more than the club can afford then the board must simply say no and the fans will back them to the hilt. It's a smart move from the board because whatever happens, they can't be accused of not going for it. The people who felt that Flanners & Coyley didn't constitute the change they had called for will also be happy as King will bring the completely new and fresh approach that they wanted.

Off the field our club has been doing brilliantly and gates have held up well despite the disappointment on the pitch. Imagine what will happen if we start winning again.

I'm expecting a lot of upheaval and changes, but there's no doubt that the prospects are exciting.

Well said spike.
For me a brilliant appointment.
Great job by the board, really restores any faith that may of been dwindling. Full credit to them.

Well done to the Board for learning from their mistake with the last appointments and being brave with this one. Steve King is an excellent well proven manager whose track record suggests that he is an ideal candidate to take us forward as a club. Well done the Board.

He wont be everyone's cup of tea and judging by his previous jobs, he will almost certainly make significant changes to the playing squad; with perhaps some established favourites moving on. But I'm confident he's the right man for the job.

Welcome to the club Steve, we're looking forward to the ride!!!
