An important win, although it seemed from Twitter updates to be far from easy.

Good performance from the lads tonight and more like the form we have been in lately. The game had quite a good tempo throughout, first half was pretty even but we got better second half and ran out worthy winners. Eventful finish with us taking the lead with about 8 mins left thanks to Roberts good header from a well taken Ryno free kick, only for us to then give a needless penalty away a few minutes later. However we went straight back at them and scored a very well worked goal, Murphy did very well down the wing and Roberts smashed it into the net.
Pretty solid performances from all the lads, Nobes good again, Bailey made an important save at the end but MOTM has to be Roberts. Took both his goals very well and when he works as hard as he did tonight (like Wealdstone away and St. Albans at home) he is a real handful and gets his deserved rewards. Must have been a nice evening for him to return to Hemel and ...................

MOTM Phil Roberts gets the first from an excellent Ryno free kick,

and I nearly captured the all important winner but things went a bit mental.

Saturday WAS just a blip.
What a great night to be a Dartford fan! Another excellent performance and a massive 3 points. With Ryno back on the flank and Nobes resuming his key position in central midfield, we were an entirely different prospect to the team that disappointed on Saturday. The squad is so much better than when we started this season and with our best players out there and in their right positions, I'd fancy our chances against anyone in this division.
For me, Darts probably shaded the first half but turned up the heat in the second and thoroughly deserved the win. Phil Roberts was outstanding, clearly out to impress against his former club, and I think it's fair to say that he must have really pi**ed them off by the end of the evening. When he puts a shift in, this fella can really play. Our lads really went looking for the win and even when Hemel scored the late equaliser from the penalty spot, the heads didn't drop, we just got back in their faces straight away. The travelling support was excellent and I can't tell you just how much I enjoyed this match, it was an absolute cracker ... and were starting to get more than a few of those recently.
I said it at the time, that I felt the win at Woking was a pivotal moment and I still believe that to be true. The squad is much stronger now than when the season started and we are on a fairly significant upward curve. Fair play to Flanners and Coyley, I wasn't sure an untried management partnership was a good idea, but we are doing as well, if not better than anyone expected and it's clear we are making strides in the right direction. We have a team to be proud of again and I'm happily tucking into my humble pie. I don't expect us to win all of our games, but I think we're in with a very good chance of making the play-offs and if we do, we'll be in with more than a fighting chance. Night night everyone.
