It's an odd one with Alex, it really is. Sadly the comment on the website seems to pose more questions than it answers. In the past couple of weeks we've lost two potential goalscorers (Pughy through serious injury and now Alex) and I'm struggling to see how we will cope if other injuries / suspensions rear their unwelcome heads. Hope the bosses have a couple of players in reserve that they can sign up before the weekend. Perhaps - as some have already suggested - the couple of on trial from the last pre-season match can do a job. I certainly hope so. Need to start the season well so we are not constantly looking to play catch-up.

I take it from that tweet that Alex was as surprised as us.
I can only assume that Jamie Philpot will be joining us shortly. (and possibly Chez Isaac as well).
If so, that's one hell of a big call by the new management duo, I hope it comes off.

Alex Wall was a player of great promise when he played for us in the National League on loan from Luton. Sadly his football career now seems to be meandering along, I can only imagine that a nagging injury is responsible. After Duane's long injury perhaps the club could not afford to take a chance on him.

Is Carl Rook on his way back to PP?

I think a few conspiracy theories will float around this. Such a strange decision a few days before the season starts. To sign a forward then let him go is a bit odd. I am sure the truth will out

They were both in the 2018-2019 team photo posted today on Facebook (& then the post got deleted an hour later).
Looked like Dave Phillips (Physio) was back again too.

Having come from tonight's meeting, it seems that Alex Wall's departure was simply a football decision taken by Jamie & Adam. Apparently Andy Pugh had figured heavily in their plans and his injury meant they wanted to bring in someone with similar qualities. They therefore had to free up funds and decided to do so by releasing Alex. Although he had signed for the club, he was not on contract. Jamie and Adam would not give any names but said the club hope to officially announce two new signings tomorrow. I can't be certain but I'm guessing we won't be too surprised.

Alex Walls release gives an early insight that Flan/Coyley are prepared to make tough decisions , I badly wanted Alex Wall to reproduce what we saw 1st time around but in preseason he looked of the pace , not likely to score and I cant see how he would have started in front of Kudos and Delanio at Bath and to keep him would have been an expensive gamble especially when another [ very likely] option has surfaced ??
They have a very hard act to follow but just remember that he won nothing during the past 5 seasons so lets see a rebuild job given time !!!!

The reasons about Alex's release were answered in full for me and the question of his fitness was covered by the mention of a possible situation occurring similar to Duane's last season which was full of promises that never really materialised.

Alex Wall was a player I remember as a huge plus when he came onboard for Luton. I was delighted when he reappeared this season, and a bit sad when he left again, but as I haven't seen anything of him, or the preseason in general, I can only asume the guy's in charge thought he wasn't what they were looking for. I hope we can get someone in who does cover the los of Pugh though.
