Exactly, it's what I've said all along. No manager can bankrupt a club.
I'm not sure any Boston Utd fan will agree with that statement Parky!! Aka a certain Mr Steve Evans, he should have served time for that. He somehow escaped jail but the Chairman didn't!!
Well that's exactly my point?
The chairman/owner of Boston sanctioned and went along with all the illegal practices which would never happen at our club.
I find it really strange that we went to great lengths previously to appoint nice managers who were supposedly the right fit and now we have a real quality applicant people seem to be looking for reasons to discredit him without any facts and does anybody know him personally to actually comment? It's totally unfair and will leave us in the same position again, still as long as we appoint someone nice dont worry about where we finish......

I appeal to the club to offer the position to someone who has a track record of success, please do not go for an unproven guy, we had that!
Time for us to get it right and learn from the last mistake

Hi everyone! First post...New manager can I suggest Scott Lindsey! Just left Forest Green Rovers after 3 successful years as Assistant Manager to be back in Kent with his family! He is Gillingham based! Outstanding coach, has continental pro-licence!

I don't think anyone is trying to discredit anyone here are they?
Surely we all just want the best applicant to be offered the job don't we?
Which definately wasn't the case 16 x months ago!!

TB once described us as a yoyo club. With Steve King at the helm we would go on to greater things

Welcome aboard!
Another name thrown into the hat but I would expect that this is too late now as it appears that we are down to a shortlist of 5...according to an earlier post. There is also a big difference between being a manager and assistant manager.
It would be nice to get this sorted quickly and I can only reiterate what others have said on here; Steve King appears to stand head and shoulders above the rest of the field. Not Jay Saunders please, I would have TB and Skip over him any day of the week.

Coincidentally, that is also his age and inside leg measurement as well.

I don't think anyone is discrediting any of the candidates, just offering opinions. I threw Steve King's name into the ring at the outset as I believe he is the stand-out candidate with most impressive track record.
Two different people in this area mentioned the agent link and I apologise for not making it clear that I was really asking the question if anyone knew for sure and if he is, then would this impact on his candidacy. Someone has however confirmed that he is not an agent so my question is now irrelevant!
I still feel he is the best candidate (of those mentioned) with the best chance of seeing us progress. Let's hope we can afford him!!!

Well, for my pennyworth, it wasn't that long ago that some on here were asking how long it would be before SK lasted at Welling because it was well known he didn't stay at clubs long. Whether through his or the clubs decision. Also players turn over at those clubs were vast and it would sometimes end because of the money he threw at players.
Whether any of that is true or just conjecture I/we do not know, but as noticed he is taking a lot of interest in the situation at the club.
