My takeaway turned up just at the final whistle so i've had time to chill but unfortunately the cooling off period hasn't made me change my view.
That was a really disappointing performance and a backward step from Tuesday and i think the players have to take the responsibility for it, regardless of formation or tactics.
IMO they didn't show enough urgency or play with any real tempo until inexplicably the last 10 mins when we were down to 10 men?
In contrast to Tuesday we created very few chances today and our wide players (including full backs) weren't really in the game at all.
For some unknown reason after going down to 10 men we had an extra yard of pace, showed more urgency than we had the rest of the game and as a result caused them problems, but we can't leave it that late and expect to get anything from the game. That is why i feel the players let themselves down today, they need to get back to being on the front foot, closing teams down more and making things happen.
A very disappointing day but we have got another game coming up on Tuesday to put things right, the perfect opportunity for the players to show a lot more drive and determination than they did today and get us back on track.
If the red card on JBB was warranted so was a red for their guy who pulled back Femi (i think) but in all honesty we have got to rely on our own performances rather than referee's decisions, individual mistakes cost us as well.
I find it interesting/disappointing that after a poor performance this thread is already twice as long as any other for quite some time with some of the comments over the top and unfair (disregarding the troll), but no doubt some will disagree with that.
We can all see where the improvements need to be made but perhaps we could all do with getting things a bit more in perspective as we are meeting our "realistic" expectations, albeit a bit bumpy at the moment.
MOTM, struggling on that one.....
