If that's the case then I'd question why would you not want a prolific goal scorer at this level (when he is so available) at the club when we were so desperate for for one last season? And if he's not good enough for us then why do Chelmsford City (who finished higher than us last year anyway and scored more goals anyway) think he can do a job for them?

Hi Mr Kennedy I'm not getting any further involved in any further well knows this etc etc. But to put the record straight let's just say he was on a very good deal at East Thurrock. I only write to lay it to rest he of course would have interested DFC but his demands are very big if you get my drift.

Hi Arthur. I really struggle to accept that East Thurrock United with literately now resources could out offer us. I'm not suggesting your wrong on this but if that's the case then we are in big trouble as they are such a tin-pot club. Surely he can't command more money than say Charlie Sheringham - who has been a pro in the past.

I don't think anyone would deny Sam Higgin's goal scoring record in the past, but we need young and hungry players and to look forward. I don't think looking at his size last season he had gone hungry in quite a while. Even I could have outrun him over ten yards and believe me with one lung that's quite a statement.

I think Mr Kennedy has himself given a reason why Sam Higgins might prefer to join Chelmsford- they did better than us last season!. In addition he has spent the vast majority of his career in Essex, so he might well prefer to stay in the county. After all, nobody seems to think it odd that our new signing from Concord should be willing to buy himself out of his contract in order to return to Kent.

I never at any point say I didn't want a prolific scorer of goals at Dartford.

Mr L Exile. Sam Higgins was on huge wages at ETFC out of our range. Chelmsford are going to be a massive force this season as i do believe that their budget will be substantially increased by input from BETSI even though the deal isnt complete.

Mr Kennedy, I'm not sure what the S is for but I'm going to call you Steve, I said months ago I felt we should go for experienced proven scorer and Higgins would be ideal. I was told just how much he was reportedly on and you would be hugely surprised as to how much it was/is. During one of Arthurs drunken arguements with Chelmsford officials 2 years ago Arty was told by those officials that their biggest earner was on £200 quid a week of course a complete load of rubbish. The amounts of behind the scenes money being distributed is enormous. Something we all know I realise but he was totally out of our range. I personally would still love to see the boys employ a Chris Dickson type whilst I know that is a rather short term signing I truly think that it would help the forthcoming season. P.s.I like Charlie as a player and whilst he/I/Many were maybe dissapointed with some of his performances last season i really think a 100 per cent fit Charlie will really help the team. I would be very surprised if his wages came anywhere near Higgins etc...I shouldn't really even write about wages and what we pay as i like all do not know. But what i do think, and ask Parky (he's a good lad deep down you know) who will agree many clubs are still using those brown envelopes.
