I hope he has enough in the tank to make an impact, but......

I haven't seen a statement that he has signed on contract, so given that some of last season's signings were on non-contract terms I suppose this may not be such a risky signing.

It's just been announced that Tom Murphy will not be returning to pre-season training. He wants to play more regularly but he's been told that we can't guarantee that.

That's fair enough. Tom's never let us down but he's never been able to hold down a regular place and given that Luke is back, I felt this was on the cards. I'm sure Tom will find another club where he'll get regular games. Best of luck to him in the future.

Always felt there was a potential in Murphy which never fully surfaced. Will probably be best remembered here for his salvation heroics coming off the bench against Billericay and (bizarrely) Uckfield. Won’t surprise me if we are pitted up against him in this coming season. Wish him well.

Sorry to see Tom go, he never seemed to get a run in the team which I think his ability deserved. He was on loan at Tonbridge & Margate last season could be a good signing for one of them if they take a chance on him.

Tom scored quite a few important goals, including a late winner at Poole on the final day 2 or 3 years seasons ago.

We thank him as a loyal trier and wish him well.

Being asked back to be assesed in pre-season training 2 x seasons running is a bit of a kick up the nuts i would say though!!
