Eastbourne Borough (H) Mon 30th Aug 3pm
Re: Eastbourne Borough (H) Mon 30th Aug 3pm
Minutes silence was well respected by all, nice touch.
We have a quality squad, that was a very impressive first half performance. If we had played like that second half I think the club would start charging double to get in!

Bit like Dulwich on Saturday where the first half performance pretty much sealed the deal, but things got tricky in the second as we took our foot off the gas a bit and invited some pressure.
Defensively though, we soaked it up professionally and slowly regained control. As others have recognised, SK made the right substitutions at the right time to kill off any hopes Eastbourne had and other results went favourably, so the table is looking great at this early stage. Perfect start and good times ahead!

Read all about it, read all about it, read all about it. Babylon you need to read Reg from the dugout available tomorrow from 10 a.m.babylon wrote: ↑Mon Aug 30, 2021 5:49 pm It was like watching Brazil in the 1st half, could have been 4-0 up. Unfortunately we gave them a joke goal within 20 seconds of the restart and for the next 20 minutes
we were not so fluent.
But a well taken goal from Azziz
Killed off a plucky Eastbourne.
A good win but we should of been out of sight at half time.

Agree with everyone else, we outclassed them first half and could have been at least 4-5 nil up at HT.
Two goals from Jake, two strikes of the woodwork and a fair few other chances with some excellent football played it was unbelievable we never added to our tally.
Second half we had an unfortunate start after about 12 seconds when someone slipped trying to receive a cross field pass and their guy nipped it to score. This gave them a bit of momentum and they put us under some pressure but like the other games we defended well and i can't recall any decent strikes on goal. We regained our composure and again looked dangerous when attacking and i was confident we would score the third which we did courtesy of Ade.
We have got a fair few late goals already this season and i think that will continue as we are so good in possession our opponents spend long periods chasing the ball which inevitably leaves them tired late on. Add to that we have four very good forwards who Kingy has rotated well and are all scoring and our squad is so strong that i think i'm right in saying that when we have made substitutions the players coming on have either scored or created the late goals in every game so far. That's very impressive and shows how important it is we have this strong squad.
Attendance was up today and nice to see a few old faces returning, the support during the game was also good and if we continue to play the same exciting football i can only see the crowds continuing to rise.
MOTM for me was between Jake, Jack and Jernade, with Jernade just edging it. However like Saturday it's so hard to choose now as we have so many candidates every game you could make a case for several of them.

Coudn't attend today due to a family commitment but pleased to see another three points gained and Darts sitting pretty on top of the league. A big well done to team and management. Obviously can't comment on today's performance but if I am to have a concern on the season so far, it would be the half time whistle. From what I have seen and read, we have been totally dominant in the first half of every game, but don't continue with the same momentum on return to the pitch. Fortunately it seems we then come good again towards the 90 minutes. Why should this be? Perhaps there should be a change of refreshment or routine, or can we propose half time breaks be dispensed with?
Keep up the excellent work SK and team.

Sorry my friend but some crazy comments mixed in with some praise. Have you witnessed the 360 minutes so far ? Its been wonderful. Truly wonderful. Yes we will not be invincible and some reverses will happen, but my dear friend but why the concerns. Yes we will lose and draw games in the season but these lads are absolutely amazing and why why any buts. Really really strange i am so sorry but thats forums i guess, opinions and all that, but played 4 won 4 , been brilliant and you have buts, drop me out, WTF do you want. Crazy words
